According to the BOX OFFICE,what is a HIT film?Is it a film which had a good storyline and performances or is it a film which succeeded to make profit.Of course,a hit film according to the box office is one which succeeds to make profit and money outside the cinema hall at the ticket window.If the film managed to make profit for its distributors,we consider it to be a hit and films which are really good,but still fail to make money at the box office are given the title of a FLOP.Here,I list the films which didn`t deserve to be hits,at all!
1.HUM AAPKE HAIN KOUN!(Salman Khan,Madhuri Dixit,Renuka Shahahane,Mohnish Behl,Reema Laagoo,Alok Nath):This is the most memorable wedding film of Bollywood.The film had record breaking box-office collections in India,as well as in overseas.There were great dances by Madhuri Dixit and some nice songs.That`s all,about this film!There was nothing extraordinary about this film.It was filled with irritating characters like a dog,an irritating aunt,Bindu or a worker at home.They were all overacting,throughout the film.There was a huge,rich family dancing together,playing cricket together and even old people like Alok Nath and Reema Laagoo were getting romantic,playing games.Why did this family never discussed financial matters,with each other?Why were they so much involved in things like playing games and cricket.Why were they always looking after some good time of ”hulla-gulla”?Check this out,as well.Even the dog knew,the rules of playing cricket.He could even understand the plans of Salman Khan,when the shoe of the ”dulha”,were hidden by the ladies.This film had seriously no storyline.There were just some smiling faces and feel good moments.Nothing more than that!
2.KAHO NAA…PYAAR HAI(Hrithik Roshan,Amisha Patel,Tanaaz Curriim,Anupam Kher,Farida Jalal,Satish Shah):This is another so-called super hit film.The only strong factors of this film was its songs and their choreography.The dances in this film were excellent,but if this makes a film super hit and amongst the best so why did Gaja Gamini failed,which had no storyline like KNPH and had excellent dances by Madhuri Dixit.If it would have been a box-office success,would it have been given the same treatment as this one?Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel were good,as debutante actors,but the film had the WORST storyline,ever.A rich girl falls in love with a poor guy.The girl`s father gets the boy killed and the girl goes to New Zealand,where she finds out a guy who looks exactly like her lover.Now,how unrealistic is this!Can it ever happen so?This is another over hyped film,just because it managed to do great business and earn a lot of money for its distributors.It feels disgusting to add the tag of super hit with such a film.This film won many awards and praises just because it clicked at the box office.
3.KABHIE KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM(Amitabh Bachcan,Shahrukh Khan,Hrithik Roshan,Jaya Bachchan,Rani Mukherjee,Kajol,Kareena Kapoor):Love in Chandni Chowk.It would have been better,if this film would have been given this title,but what can we do?Mr.Karan Johar believes that if his films will begin with a ’K’,only then they will gain success and that`s true.It works for Karan Johar.That`s why the one-liner for this film should have had been ’it`s all about the ‘K’ factor.K3G had a very ordinary storyline but what it had was a great starcast ranging from Amitabh Bahchcan to SRK to Hrithik Roshan.This was the only factor due to which this film worked,otherwise it was a completely senseless film.Kajol was screaming and shouting at the top of her voice.Kareena was acting as a sl-ut.The Jr.Hrithik Roshan seemed completely different from the grown-up one.Jaya Bachchan loved her son SRK so much,so why she never tried to contact him through phone,or mobile?Why Amitabh Bachchan didn`t mind Hrithik Roshan meeting,talking or romancing with Kareena Kapoor,though,she was also the daughter of a ’halwai’.Was it because she had become the modern ‘Poo’ from Pooja of Chandni Chowk?How come the other children of SRK`s son`s school,agreed to sing an Indian national anthem.Why did the white people stood up and were proud that their children were singing the national anthem of some other country(I don`t mean that we shouldn`t give respecgt to other countres.It`s just that it never happens so.The children broke their rule.They HAD to do what they had to but they did something else).There were even more faults,in the movie.Overall,it was just a colourful movie,but not a sensible one.Complete ’masala’!
4.RAAZ(Bipasha Basu,Dino Morea,Ashutosh Rana,Shruti Ulfat,Malini Sharma):This film came out,when Hindi filmmakers were not attempting at making horror films.This helped this film to be the biggest box-office success/hit of the year,2002.Otherwise,this film possessed nothing extraordinary.Bipasha Basu`s dubbed voice,Ashutosh Rana`s terrible contact lenses which made him look like a character of a Ramsay C-grade horror flick and Malini Sharma`s romantic poetry`s were what this film consisted of.They had shown that Malini Sharma escaped from a mental hospital,so how come she had a car and a violin?Confused,huh?So was,I!Bipasha Basu flying,a witch(oh sorry,bi-tch) screaming all the time.This was torturous,but now this film is to be called a HIT!.Just look at this:

5.CHALTE CHALTE(Shahrukh Khan,Rani Mukherjee,Lillette Dubey,Satish Shah):During those times,when films like Bhoot,etc.were being churned out by Bollywood,this film released,which had a complete ”Saathiya” touch to it and the same old immature,typical Bollywood,romance.The name-Shahrukh Khan was the only thing which made this film a hit.Otherwise,the story and theme of this movie had become as old as hills.It was a 3-hour entertainer,but certainly didn`t have the quality of a hit.
