This had an overdose of all the masalas which caused a lot of stomach upset to me.Shahrukh over acted more than anyone else due to bad direction.The worst scene of the film was when Shahrukh chased a villian on a rickshaw and made it fly. The music was by the inspired Anu Malik which to my horror fetched him many awards.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
A movie that advocates, fall in love only if a woman is beautiful and is well dressed.Rani knows before her death that Kajol would still be unmarried for 8 years.That letters to daughter concept, Shahrukh falling for Rani first because she is beautiful and then for Kajol because now she is beautiful, with Anupam Kher and Archana Puransingh's loud insensible acting was all a torture to watch.
Kabhie Khusi Kabhi Gham
I still can not figure out what Karan Johar was thinking when he directed this movie. There was not even one thing that would make me sit through it one more time. There are some movies which are so silly that you can at least laugh at them, but this one has my blood boiling. None of the characters were even close to being real. Not even one character could be more clichéd. I mean you can show rich people but for goodness sake , they had a mansion bigger than Buckingham palace itself , stretch Limos are replaced by private jets and helicopters.Of course its only after watching this movie did I come to know that even people like Kajol could act so bad . I just can’t believe that usually likeable people like Kajol , Farida Jalal could be so detestable in a movie . Its hard to make another movie like this one. Not even somebody like Karan Johar who can make bad movies can repeat it.
Hum Aapke Hain Kaun
This is a film that looks more like an extended musical album to me.It had such a lousy screenplay, no story and a lot of naach gaana.This film had more songs than dialogues.Perhaps the only reason it did well was The presence of the gorgeous lady with a million dollor smile-Madhuri. Believe me, I have tried watching the film 15 times, but just when the film is about to end, I go into a slumber.The idea of having such a run-of-the-mill stuffjust did'nt make sense to me.That thumbs-down with a lot of rotten tomatoes for barjatya's film who got even worse with his next two films.
BUNTY AND BABLI
The film should have been an utter flop and I lacks even the qualities of a sophisticated film.It was mere collection of bad story and bad acting and much more. Just because it had the hype and hooplah of the father-son duo for the first time and that it was made under Yash Raj Banner made it a success and a hit that year.
