A few months back I wrote about the “ 5 hindi films that deserved to be hits “ so I guess it’s only fair that I write something on the films that did’nt deserved to do well.
Biwi No 1 Uff …. If I have my way , I will include all of David Dhawan’s hit fillum in this review but let me refrain from doing that and just include this junk of a movie. A talented star cast wasted ? Maybe not because the film did well and that’s what matters for people who treat filmmaking as a business !! There is absolutely nothing in this film for me to recommend. Pathetic script , pathetic dialogues and even more pathetic screenplay .Even the music was a noise .
Hum Aapke hain kaun Am I too critical about this movie ? Maybe . I mean you do need guts to make a film which looked more like a marriage video with 14 songs ( Hope I am right on this one ) and one big happy family . But it certainly did’nt deserve to be the 2nd highest grossing hindi film of all time ( after Sholay ) . And the greater tragedy is that it crashed 1942 – A love story at the box office which was by far one of the best hindi films of all time but was unfortunately was released at around the same time as HAHK.
Karan Arjun It’s one of the worst reincarnation movies – or even otherwise - that I have ever seen. The look of the entire cast remains same even after 20 odd years – ok , maybe a streak of white hair here and there – even as our heroes Shahrukh and Salman reborn with the same looks and come to avenge their deaths ! The only positive thing about this film was the music and the new muscled look of Salman .
Pyar Kiya to Darna Kiya I went to see this film after completing an exam and came back with a headache. The three khan brothers – Salman , Arbaaz and Sohail – did manage to pull off a hit but it did nothing for their careers ! This was a comedy which for people like me seemed more like a tragedy !! The only plus point of the film was the music.
Raaz Vikram Bhatt is one of the most over-rated directors of bollywood and this film of his was surprisingly one of the very hits of 2001 ( or was it 2002 ? ) . I don’t know why it did well . Because of it’s music? Probably because there is nothing more in this film worth recommending.

Dil In a way I am happy that Aamir Khan’s career was back on track with this hit film .
Dhadkan Did it really do well ? I don’t know how people tolerated this tearjerker of a film .
Beta The original saans – bahu drama was just too much for me.
Dil to pagal hai Yash chopra is a good director but on this occasion he could’nt make me happy !
