FIVE GIFTS: MY LAST WISH

Five gifts that I would love to receive but never did:

FLYING LESSONS

I have always badly wanted to fly an airplane all by myself. The planes I want to learn how to fly are

(a) Micro Light airplanes which do not require any DGCA approvals or clearances.

(b) Helicopters: Small two seater choppers.

I took a hard look at some of the flying schools in India, but money and time were both severe constraints.

I have flown many sorties in both the microlights and choppers as a passenger and remember every minute of the thrills of flying in these planes. When I see Microlight flying programs on the National Geographic or the Discovery channels, my heart elates and soars skywards. I would also like to mix up flying with aerial photography.

Wish some one could sponsor my flying lessons and gift me a Micro Light plane.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP TO THE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB AT SAHARA CITY

The Sahara City built over some 20 square miles or more, close to Lonavala, is a man made marvel worth a visit. This place is out of bounds for casual visitors. You need to know the likes of Kapil Dev, Amitabh Bachhan or Ashwariya Rai, just to get an entry. When I went there I did not know that such was the case.

I managed to steam roll my way into this exclusive City holding aloft my retired Armed Forces identity card and threw some big names here and there, got aggressive and drove in.

This city is for the SUPER RICH. A plot of land with a Villa comes for some Rs 2 to 5 crores.

They have built an exclusive 18'hole' Golf Course here.  Bermuda grass fairways, fully flood lit for day and night play, a class driving range and a super Club House makes this a truly world class Golf and Country Club.

Membership is just not available to ordinary folks like me. It is rumored that the American PGA(Professional Golf Association) Tour Officials have agreed to host a tournament here and bring in the likes of Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Ernie Els to play this year.

A life membership to this exclusive Golf Club and Country Club is a dream gift.

A DOG

Golden Retriever, German Shepherd or Labrador. Pedigree, Class A, certified by the Kennel club of India. *Properly trained to do tricks and win prizes at the Dog Shows. Some of my friends have super dogs, that cost them 30 k or more. I have always envied these guys. Dogs are man’s best friend not for nothing. They cost more than humans to maintain on a day to day basis.

Has anyone here been gifted a dog?

A CLONE

Human Cloning has gone far enough. There was a newspaper item that the first human clone is on  the way.

But clones come as a separate entity quite independent from the original. They will live side by side as two individuals.  Nothing great or of any value.

What fires my imagination is a human clone of myself, with my brain duplicated into the clone’s brain with all the information of my brain ingrained to the last byte into the clones brain.  Something like a CD RW,  read from here write out here technology.  I simply cast off my old body and move into a new one. The whole thing must be like akin to rebirth.

Will it be easy for a 53-year-old man to live in a new body just a day old? What will happen 5/10/15/20 years down the line?  What sort of psychosomatic problems will I suffer? Can such a human being adapt to society? What super advantages will I have over others of my age? I have no answers.

This technology could count as a super gift for me when it arrives.

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST

To be gifted Star Writer status on MouthShut!

Just you wait Henry Higgings!
