Our own Shaan!. Review on Five Best Songs of Shaan

Shantanu Mukherji or better known as Shaan is a popular face these days, thanks to ever increasing popularity of Zee TV's Saregamapa programme.It did the same magic to Shaan which it did to Sonu Nigam.Sonu Nigam advised Shaan to anchor this programme.

Shaan is son of a very well known music director of yesteryears(His father died when he was 14), but made his own name by struggling in life, sometimes giving private tuitions to kids and sometimes working  as a salesman .He even started a printing press before rising to fame as a singer.

Shaan's Five Best Songs according to me are-

1.Musu Musu hati.from PYAR MEIN KABHIE KABHIE.This is his first song in a Hindi movie .This movie was directed by Mandira Bedi's husband Raj Kaushal and featured Dino Morea, Sanjay Suri and Rinke Khanna, all newcomers and therefore a new singer like Shaan also got an opportunity to sing and he proved himself well.

2.Tanha dil, tanha safar.from album TANHA DIL.This is a song in a private album by Shaan, very well choreographed.I have heard Shaan writes his song's lyrics also.It is said his latest album TISHNAGI is also penned by him and features his wife Radhika, a former air hostess and his two kids.

3.Koi kahe kehta rahe.from DIL CHAHTA HAI.Great song, very well choreographed.

4.Bhool ja.from TANHA DIL.It is a great song, very well sung and picturised and it can be included in Five Songs to get over your heartbreak:) very encouraging and inspiring song for all those heartbroken girls who get depressed after a broken love affair.

5.Ladki kyon.from HUM TUM.How can anybody leave this funny song in this such short list?This is a very funny song, a must listen for everybody.I wonder who wrote it!

There are some more songs from Shaan worth listening like'Chalte Chalte yuun hi kho jata hu main.'from MOHABBETEIN and'O humdum suniyo re.' from SAATHIYA.'Yeh hawaayein.' from BAS ITNA SA KHWAB HAI is also a good number.There was a time when Shaan's voice was called Abhishek Bachchan's and Saif Ali Khan's voice.

What I like about Shaan is his ever cheerful and bubbly facade and the sheer honesty on his face which transcends over to his songs and makes them very different.
