Unfortunate end to their career

As per me, Anand-Milind have given music of all genres. They started their career a long back in early 1980s by composing songs for Parvati Khan and Sharon Prabhakar.

Sons of the legendary Chitragupta, Anand Milind struggled hard from 1982 to 1988 to get their first major break, that was Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. They were the most sought after music directors during the early 90s.

I take this opportunity to thank mouthshut for adding this category on my request, so that I can write something about my childhood stars.

I start the list The list goes like:

1. Aake Teri Baahon Mein, Film: Vansh

This song will always be my favouriite. It has deep and solid vocals by two greats - S. P. Balasubramanyam and Lataji. The song is a mixture of low, medium and high notes and thus it is a very difficult composition to compose, arrange and sing. The singers have given out their best and the song conveys its meaning - True Love. Definitely a must listen song.

2. Papa Kehte hain, Film: Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

First hit for Anand-Milind, Udit Narayan, Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla. For the very first time, a new kind of music was composed for Hindi Films, music with soft beats and a simple rock-n-roll kind of rhythm. The song immediately became a winner and topped the charts. Anand-Milind won the award for best music directors of the year. This song is in the list because of its simplicity and freshness. It is a timeless classic.

3. Kya Mausam Aaya Hai, Film: Anari

Seriously a very difficult song to compose. This song starts on high notes and comes to lower notes. This combination is a treat to the ears. With powerful vocals by Sadhna Sargam and Udit Narayan, this song becomes more and more melodious as it progresses. The choice of background instruments is also very good. With flute in the background, the song is a treat to the ears.

4. Palkon Pe Chalte Chalte, Film: Daayra

The film won several international awards. Released in 1998, this movie had very few but beautifully crafted songs. The best one being this one. Gulzar sahab's lyrics did miracles alongwith Anand-Milind's composition and he song emerges as one of the most beautiful song of AM's catelogue. The song is basically a lullaby. Very few music directors of today get the honour to have Yesudas as their singer. This song has been sung by Yesudas and his voice adds several stars to the song.

5. Tum Bin Mann ki Baat Adhuri, Film: Mrityudand

A song which talks about the incompleteness without ones beloved, this song is a soft song and is very light to the ears. With excellent vocals by Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam, and beautiful poetry by Javed Akhtar sahab, this song emerges out as the best song of the movie. With the background music being played softly, the vocals are the soul saviour of this song. A beautiful song indeed.

I know, I have not included many of the other popular songs of Anand-Milind and I apologize to hurt your feelings but as this is my list,  I have included only those songs which sooth my style of music. Some more songs could have been - Kaisa Lagta Hai - Baaghi, Sun o Haseena - Sangeet, Badi Mushkil Hai - Anjaam, Bol Radha Bol - Title Song, Shehar ki Ladki - Rakshak.

If I have missed out any other song which you think is worth finding a place in top 5, I request you to convey the same to me through comments.

Good or bad - Comments Welcome as they teach you where you were wrong.
