A-M used to get a lot of criticism for lifting from southern tunes. However they have given some wonderful songs which sound fresh even now. The order given is random. I am not picking the most popular but just some unappreciatted gems.  There are many.

  1. Tanhai: From the movie Dillagi. Amazing song, great lyrics and perfectly sung by Nusrat Feteh Ali Khan.

  2. the whole album of Daayra.

  3. Kisi ne bhi: from Dil ashna Hai . Great lyrics and sung by Pankaj Udhas.

  4. Din Ba din: from Deedar . WOW is the word. Reminds one of L-P.

  5. Ae sawan baras zara: sung by lata in Lootere .this song gives an idea of the range of repotaire of A-M. Also in L-P mode.

  6. Sanan o Sanam: from Pehchaan. Great singing by abhijeet.

  7. The whole album of Sangeet: Can you imagine any present day composer capable of this album?

  8. Khuda Kare: From Sanam. This album was on top position(in screen) for many weeks. a shame that the film got delayed and the music went unappreciatted.

  9. Naina o naina: From Yaad rakhegi duniya. Sung wonderfully by Amit Kumar.

  10. Hai Huku Hai Huku: From Gopi Kishan. Just listen to the intrumentation. Its absolutely and total Indian. Its an amazing song where westerns beats could have worked perfect. But the greatness lies in the of dholaks, tabla and flute.
