Alka Yagnik has the sweetest and simplest voice and she has always been my favorite singer until Sunidhi Chauhan came along! But Alka is still one of my favorite singers. Her voice is best suited for sweet, soft, romantic selections but she can also sing fast, peppy and upbeat songs! However I have only chosen some of her more romantic selections!

Slow, sweet and heart-rending! Alka totally brought the house down with this song at a concert a few months ago! If I may be allowed to say it, I?ll say this is her best song ever!

Alka got a nomination for this song for the Filmfare Awards. Though she won, it wasn?t for this song. I got really tired of this song?cause on the radio, every single day they played at least three times and it was really too much! After a while, though, I got back my liking for this song but it wasn?t just the same any more!
It?s quite a sweet song. Alka sings really sweetly and beautifully. She is saying?oh my, my sweetheart has discovered me.? And then something about a red veil! What a beautiful selection!

Now this isn?t just a love song, it?s a sad song as well.?Cause in the movie, this is where Kajol leaves SRK because she is unhappy he doesn?t love her! In the song, she is also confessing her love for him! SRK just loved her as a friend but he doesn?t want her to leave. But Kajol still leaves; for a very long time. And she may never return.
It?s the song that will bring the tears out and it is portrayed very excellently by Alka! She puts herself into the song and sings out her heart into the song!

Here?s the song that won Alka yet another Filmfare Award! When this song was released it was my favourite for months! There aren?t enough words to describe this song and the way Alka sings! Fantastic is just an understatement!

At first I didn?t really care for this song. But then it became one of my favorites. Dil Churale is one of the sweetest and most romantic songs ever and sung very beautifully by Alka Yagnik!
Finally I?d just like to mention Ek din aap from the movie Yes Boss. I just couldn?t find enough words to describe the song.
There are so many songs I?d like to mention. There?s Saanwarya from Swades, Pyar Ka Khumar from Madhoshi and a whole lot more songs but for now these are all!
Alka has improved tremendously over the years. I thought Lata Mangeshkar had sung Aye Merey Humsafar from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak but it was Alka. I was really amazed at the way Alka sounds in that song.
At the moment it would have seemed great but when I compare the way she sounded in that song to the way she sounds today, it is horrible! Her voice sounds out of tune and just bad compared to the way she sounds in *Galli Mein Aaj Chaand Nikalla!
