Hotel Paramount, Koramangala - The worst ugly junk

Hi friends and folks.

Beware, not only looks.but service also matters in case of choosing a hotel/restaurant for a party/get-together.

This happened to me yesterday(29th August 2004).

We bought a house in HSR layout and planned for its housewarming ceremony on 29th.Since the number of invitees were less I thought of arranging the b'fast in a hotel/restaurant nearby and found this one - Hotel Paramount.

I went 2 days before and enquired and they informed me that it is possible for arranging b'fast for 20 people without any problem, in the party hall.

I paid 1000 Rs as advance.

On the fateful 29th morning we reached the hotel around 9.45 Am.

All of us were welcomed by the hotel manager(looks like)(his name is Raheem and other guy is Tony).

We sat in the AC Dining hall . Tony came to take the order. He told us prior that only appam and idiyappam is available. So we ordered around 17 plates appam and 3 plates idiyapppam.

We ordered it around 9:50 and started waiting for the food to come. Meanwhile a waiter came and put some plates and distributed water around.

All my guests were talking to each other and the time went on. went on.after some time I realized that already 1 hr over and no food.nothing came our way.

Suddenly one guy appeared from the kitchen door with a big serving plate, which had a lot of paper in it, and some appams were placed on it.

He came with some 12 appams(for 20 people) with curry for some 4 people.

(A person can eat at least 5 appams and to eat 1 appam it requires max 2 min)

He couldn't serve properly since these appams got stuck to the paper.

So he called another guy and they started virtually pulling the appams with bare hands in-order to release it from that oilpaper.

They went of after 10 minutes struggle.but rest of the people still waited for appams to come.

Another half'n' hour another guy appeared.with another plate.but this time only one appam in his hand.

By this time.my guests got restless and started shouting at the waiter to get it fast.

He again disappeared and instead tony came. He told the appams are made live and kept in paper to make it.

My brother and brother -in-law started screaming at him and asked him to make things fast.

Oh god, he disappeared again and didn't turn up at all . And infact another guy(another mallu) came and started blaming that all malayalis are trouble mongers and we are here to make trouble. This comment irritated everybody and real commotion started.

Already 2 hrs over.and still half of the guests didn't get any food.

We registered a complaint with the management and came out.

Quality

Idiyappams served was sub-standard(We can use it instead of fevicol)

Appams served(after we asked them to bring it fast)was not even cooked properly.

Please friends.who ever lives near koramangala.never ever visit this unworthy, contemtible, useless, ghastly, awful, appalling, horrific and junk place .
