There are many bookstores in Delhi where you go and buy the books of your choice, some chain bookstores are new while few shops are very old, so it all depend on your taste of books, discount and services provided for that you visit a book store. There are few bookstores that I regularly visit sometime for the books.
Oxford bookstore, CP-Oxford bookstore in Conought Place is not an old book store, It opened in 2004, the good thing about this store is that it is very spacious, you can sit, enjoy a coffee, and carelessly browse the various sections. They keep all kind of books, fiction, non-fiction, cookery, fashion, art, films and almost of every thing. The sales staff is cooperative and nice. Apart from the books you can purchase DVD and gift item also. It is not very far from the Rajiv chowk metro station and easily accessible from any place in and around Delhi.
Bahri and Sons Khan Market- If you are looking for the books on Social, Political and economic issues, and feel the company of reputed person, like famous Politicians, film stars, Cricketers, Senior beaurocrates, famous authors, then there is no place better then Bahri and Sons. There is two floor in the shop and they keep all the latest bestsellers, encyclopaedias, however shop is not very spacious but you can roam around it and have a feel of Lutyun “s Delhi.
Teksons Book Store, South Extension- This again is a very established bookstore in Busy south Extension area. The bookstore is situated in the basement and quite spacious and well arranged and organized. You can get all kind of books fiction, non-fiction, but they have vast collection of children books and educational materials for the children. I personally know the owner of this store, and he is very nice guy, if you request him a little he always agree on good discount.
Variety Book Depot-This is not a retail shop but a whole selling distributors of all kind of books. They have very vast collections, especially in cookery, fashion, and lifestyle. If you are Interested in coffee table books, then there is no place better then Variety, they have some exclusive foreign titles also.
Apart from these you can visit crossword, Om bookstores and other chain stores and enjoy browsing new books.
