Amol is really AnMOL!. Review on Five Best Movies of Amol Palekar

I always want to write about something else and end up writing on something else, but the topics I stumble across are really good, good choices whosoever has put them in MS list, actually I was searching category on Five Best Vamps, but this one caught my attention, Five Best Movies of Amol Palekar.

Amol Palekar is a lively, bubbly creature to look at in movies, not in real life, In real life, he is a brooding director with a beard who always sits in arm chair and writes about scripts.Who could have known that a simple bank employee like him will end up becoming this, the most lovable character in Indian films.Destiny takes you wherever she wants to.and its for good always in most of the cases except few unfortunate ones, they too learn something new if they look positively at it.

Anyway.

1.NARAM GARAM-Already much has been said about it by me in my last review, but Amol Palekar as a poor employee stirs many chords, his helplessness to help Swaroop Sampat still a faint try.and his'buttering"of his boss Utpal Dutt and manipulating his son Shatrughan Sinha is sad helpless comedy, comedy out of unfortunate situation.His next door looks never hindered his career, but his acting prowess naturally overpowered his simple image.

2.BAATON BAATON MEIN-Simple love story, yet so interesting, till last moment you think this movie will have sad ending, it ends with a happy ending like NARAM GARAM.Peculiarly, they both have same ending Amol Palekar getting back his love.A very optimistic film like its song.uthe sabke kadam, dekho ram pam pam, ajee aise geet gaya karo.and suniye kahiye.Tina Munim looked too good in this movie.

3.CHITCHOR-"Main prem ki diwani hoon", A Hrithik Roshan-Kareena Kapoor starrer sometime back was a sad remake of this movie.Original with Amol, Jarina Wahab and Vijayendra Ghatge is a happy story of a JE Amol Palekar in love with Jarina, realises his sweetheart was to marry his senior, and her family mistakes him for Vijayendra.Everyone is going out to sacrifice for each other, the story ends happily.Its really peculiar Why Amol has to do films with similar endings and turmoils.But the story line of each movie is different.Songs were great.gori tera gaanv bada pyara .and Jab deep jale aana.Music was by great Ravindra Jain Amol singing Yesudas numbers, another great singer.

4.GOLMAL- This is really a hilarious movie, Amol Palekar doubling up as his own'brother' making fool of Utpal Dutt.A scene is very comic when Utpal Dutt asks him why he has to wear such short kurtas, he says he is helping Indian economy in this way:)I wonder what Mallika Sherawat has to say on this!It has also good songs like aane wala pal jane wala hai.Bindiya Goswami looks good but chunky in this movie, Amol got Filmfare award in this movie.

5.GHARONDA-This is not a comedy movie like other three, but a very serious movie.An unfortunate Palekar loses his dream home and sweetheart both in quest of a better future.This is his another film with Jarina Wahab and ShreeRam Lagoo.Songs were circumstantial.do deewane  sheher main.and ek akela is shehar main.Things have not changed in metros still, still people live in chawls, feel lonely and now may be there are some relievers like net and community groups if seen positively.

Another movie I would like to mention is Bhumika, a very grave movie with Smita Patil, I really hated Amol's character in this movie, he has become such a villain leaving no chance to torture Smita's character, but in the ending as usual, happy ending, the character mellows down.He showed in this movie, he is not mere a comic character, a very fine actor.
