These top 5, 10, 20 series never seem to end. Well, music is something which binds people together. Everyone have their own set of favourite songs. So, we have lot of MSians writing about their choices, and I thought I'll list few of mine.
Whenever we think of songs, mostly, it is the romantic songs which come to our mind. And, most of my favourite ones are also sweet, romantic numbers. But, my review is not about those songs. Rather, I'll talk about the songs which leave a happy feeling behind and those which uplift our senses.I have listed them starting with the oldest. Can't really rank them. Some are from hit movies, some are not. But, I think these songs are definitely worth listening.
Kahiin door jab.
This is a soul-touching song from the movie 'Anand' and was picturised on Rajesh khanna. It has one of the best lyrics and is one melodious'sad'song from this movie.
Kahiin door jab din dhal jaaye,
saanj ki dulhan, badan churaye, chupke se aaye,
Mere khayalon ke aangan mein,
koyi sapnon ke deep jalaye.
Aane wala pal.
Taken from the comedy film 'Golmal', which happens to be one of my favourite movies, this song motivates us to lead our life to the fullest. The lyrics go like this
Aane wala pal, jaane wala hai.
Ho sake to isme zindagi bitalo,
pal jo yeh jaane wala hai.
Zindagi ki yahi reeth hai.
Who can forget Anil kappor and his kids in 'Mr.India'? This song, which he sings for his adopted children is just lovely. This song sends across the message that happiness and sorrow go hand in hand.
Zindagi ki yahi reet hai
haar ke baad hi jeet hai
thodi aansoo hai, thodi hai hasi
jahan gum hai wahi hai khushi.
Zindagi ek geet hai.
Most of you may not have heard this one. It is taken from the movie 'Yash'.Just hear it once and I am sure you will love it.This song is so soft on the ears and the use of Guitar in the beginning of the song is marvelous. The lyrics:
Zindagi ek geet hai
Ise honton pe sajale
gum ho ya khushi ho
pyar se gunguna le.
Dil hai chota sa.
This song from 'Roja' illustriates the dreams of a young girl in simple, yet, beautiful terms. And the visuals were just too good. It's something which fills your heart with happiness and umang
Dil hai chota sa, choti si asha,
Masthi bhari man ki, bholi si asha,
Chaand taaron ko, choone ki asha.
Aasmanon me udne ki asha.
Kal ho na ho.
A meaningful song with great lyrics, this is the title song of Shahrukh starrer 'Kal ho na ho'.Here goes the lyrics:
Har ghadi badal rahi hai roop zindagi,
dhoop hai kabhi kabhi hai chaav zindagi
Har pal yahaan ji bhar jiyo.
Jo hai samaa kal ho na ho.
I couldn't find the category I was looking for. So, I thought why not term these as inspirational? After all, what is zindagi without dreams and aspirations? I'll list my all time favourite romantic songs in another review.
Would love to hear your comments and opinions about this.
