I believe there is a child present in all of us. This is why the lure of animated movies would never seem childish. It can be due to the fact that modern animated movies have a more mature(non-childish) oriented theme, content and dialog. In fact it can be argued that the modern animated movies target adults as much as they target children.

But enough of this talk, on to the review.

Shrek 1 & Shrek 2: Shrek is the story of an ogre, Shrek, who just wants to be left alone in his swamp. High hope of that happening once he meets Donkey, the most talkative donkey this side of Animation land! When his swamp is invaded by displaced Fairy creatures, he agrees to go on a quest, to bring back the Princess Fiona, for Lord Farquaad, in return for his swamp to himself. Little does he know how his life would be changed forever by this act of his.

Shrek 2 starts from where the first part left. It follows the lives of Shrek and Fiona as they are called by Fiona?s parents, the King and Queen of Far Far Away. There that have to deal with the dislike of the King towards Shrek and the evil scheming of the Fairy Godmother who want Fiona to marry her son, Prince Charming.

This movie and it?s sequel is one of the best Animated movies made. It appeals to both the young and the old. There are enough fairy tale references that would keep one smiling and amused, throughout the movie. A real must-see, if not seen already!

Monsters Inc: A fun-filled roller coaster ride throughout the movie. Like any other place in the world, Monster land need power. And power need fuel. What could possibly fuel the power in Monster land? Children?s screams! Monsters Inc, is the power generating company in Monster land. It employs scarers, who punch in regular hours to scare children in order to tap their scream energy. The top scarer is Sulley, a blue-haired monster. His side kick is Mike, a one-eyed green monster.

Their life gets turned upsidedown, when they accidently allow a child into Monster land.(The really amusing premise of the movie is the belief the monsters have that a child?s touch is dangerous and poisonous to them!) How they try to get the child back to her room without alarming the Monster Authorities form the plot of the movie.

I love this movie as it is real fun to watch and some scenes had me in splits.

Finding Nemo: An adorable sweet movie, Finding Nemo, is about the search by a clownfish, Marlin for his son, Nemo, who is captured and taken to a Dentist?s aquarium, in Sydney. The journey there and the various characters he meets and befriends makes up the plot of the story.

The Incredibles: Meet the Incredibles, a family of super powered heroes, only they cannot use their powers as they have been forbidden by the law. They are Mr Incredible, who has super strength, Mrs Incredible(Elastigirl) who can stretch her body, Violet, who can turn invisible and created force shield, and Dash, who has super speed. Mr Incredible, loves to sneak out now and then, and fight crime with the help of his friend, Frozone. Things gets out of hand when he unwitting helps the villain Syndrome to build an indestructible robotic machine. It is thus time for the super family, to come together as one and win the day.

Lion King: Before Shrek, I considered The Lion King one of the best animated movies ever made. This is a classic tale of growing up, learning responsibilities, revenge and restoration. It follows the tale of Simba, the crown prince of the Pride Lands, who runs away when he is lead to think he caused the death of his father. With him gone, his uncle Scar, rules the Pride Lands and nearly brings it to ruins. A chance meeting between Simba and his old playmate, Nala, reminds Simba of his duty and responsibility. How he gets back control of Pride Lands makes up the rest of the movie.

The characters to watch out for are Pumbaa and Timon, a Warthog and Meercat, respectively. They provide the hilarious comic relief to this movie.

Hope this was useful.
