I finally was able to decide on five actresses that I feel are some of the best actresses in the movies today. Some are conventional picks and otheres are not as common to end up on a list of this nature.
- Julia Roberts
This pretty woman has managed to engage movie viewers over and over again. With her thousand watt smile, joyful laugh and a something you can't put your finger on she always makes you smile. I feel she is one of the best in today's romantic comedy genre.
- Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is an impressive actress to say the least. Once I saw her in the fantastic ''Girl Interrupted'' I knew she was going to be a star. I do feel her role choices have been questionable recently but she makes the best of everything she is in.
- Charlize Theron
I love her style and feel she is going to be working in Hollywood for a very long time. She has a graceful, elegant manner and the capacity to play a variety of roles. I just recently saw her in Sweet November and was impressed at how she pulled off a character so different from her previous ones.
- Faye Dunaway
When it comes to more of an old school actress, I feel Dunaway is one of the best. Her resume is nothing short of impressive. I have seen a good portion of her movies and feel in most of them her acting is just right. Occasionally she overacts but that often turns out right as well. My personal favorite of hers is her campy turn of Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest.
- Susan Sarandon- I think this woman has a lot of range and ability. The first movie I remember seeing her in is Thelma and Louise. She has managed to do high quality work over a long period of time. She was very memorable as the attorny in The Client as well.
These are the actresses who I feel are the leaders of the pack when it comes to acting. Charming, wise and interesting I have enjoyed the array of characters they have portrayed over the years.
