My Favorite Five Of Each Era. Review on Five Best Hollywood Actors

Let's begin with the oldies (Rather finish off with them first, heh, heh, heh).

These guys would have appeared in a thousand of BEST ACTOR LISTS.

I don't think I need to say anything more about them. I'll be brief.

1. Sean Connery - Former James Bond (Actually, the best James Bond ever).

Cool, Suave and a perfect gentleman. Old age has not mellowed him down. Just check out movies like The Rock or Entrapment and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

1. Al Pacino - I'm a huge, huge fan of this guy. Easily the actor with the best screen presence. One more thing I like about this guy is the way he portrays sarcasm. He is the coolest old guy of Hollywood.

1. Jack Nicholson – If you want an actor who can display complex human emotions with utmost ease, then Nicholson is the guy for you. Funny, Eccentric and Sometimes Scary.

1. Kevin Spacey – Another Class act. He is one tough guy. Not that he is muscular, but he can play ‘WICKED’ really well. He’s got superb movies to his credit. Goes to show that he has brains to pick the right movies.

1. Harrison Ford – This guy is already a legend. Many people around the world know him as Indiana Jones. But, he is a well accomplished actor beyond the Indiana Jones Series as well. Watch out for him in the next Indiana Jones movie to be released in 2007.

Now, that I’ve picked out my favorite oldies, let’s go in for the men of today. There are so many good actors in this category that it was difficult to actually select five. Finally, I chose actors I like the most.

1. Tom Hanks – Ok, his name is Tom Hanks. Do I have to say more??? One actor whose movies I can watch any number of times and not get bored. You loved him in Forrest Gump, you loved him in The Terminal. My favorite Hanks movie would be Road To Perdition. But, I would recommend his movies to everyone. If you ain’t seen tom Hanks, you ain’t seen a thing about acting.

1. Denzel Washington – Uber cool personality. Super smooth movies. If you need a smooth cop or the most motivating coach, he’s the dude. One of the best guys with dialogue delivery. The way he plays ‘COOL under PRESSURE’ is awesome.

1. Jim Carrey – I don’t understand why people forget him while voting the best actors when he has given us movies which are hilariously funny. Why do people never take funny guys seriously? It is one of the most difficult things, as an actor. Ask anybody and they will tell you, comedy is not easy. Ok, if that hasn’t convinced you guys go watch Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and it’ll prove to you what a fine actor he is.

My Jim Carrey Movies – Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Dumb And Dumber, The Truman Show.

1. Russell Crowe – The tough guy who can make you cry. He can fight tigers and mental illness with the same fervor. If there is any period film being made, it will not be complete without this guy.

My Russell Crowe Movies – The Gladiator, Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, The Quick And the Dead.

1. John Travolta – Half a dozen friends of mine would kill me in my sleep if I do not include this guy. If anybody can be called THE COOL DUDE, it has to be him. He can dance and he can punch. He can also do comedy. What else can you ask for??

My John Travolta Movies – Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Face Off, Broken Arrow.

The other guys who came close are Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, Gary Sinise, Jackie Chan, Samuel L Jackson, Clive Owen, Jude Law, George Clooney.

Now we come to the boy’s section. The actors who have great potential to become stars. The guys to watch out for.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio – Well, he had to be there right. After all he is the most successful young actor, at least box-office wise. He showed us he can act in The Aviator.

Statutory Warning: Don’t Watch Romeo & Juliet.

1. Matt Damon – This guy is my FAVOURITE. If he is in a movie. I’ll watch it, no matter what people say. Give him drama or comedy, he does it with finesse.

My Matt Damon Movies – Saving Private Ryan, The Legend Of Bagger Vance, Good Will Hunting, The Rainmaker, Rounders, The Talented Mr.Ripley, Ocean’s Eleven/ Twelve. Just Go See Them All, guys.

1. Will Smith – Action/ Romance/ Comedy, you name it, you get it. Super stud. The new face of America. Can sing too.

My Will Smith Movies – The Legend Of Bagger Vance, Bad Boys I/II, Ali, Enemy Of The State, Independence Day and I,Robot.

No, I don’t like Men In Black.

1. Mark Wahlberg – Another guy who takes acting seriously. Changes his look in every movie and that is the mark of every good actor. I could not recognize him in the first hour of The Perfect Storm at all. Good actor. Nice guy.

My Mark Wahlberg Movies – The Italian Job, Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, Four Brothers ( He is the only good thing about this movie ).

Watch Out For – The Brazilian Job

1. Edward Norton – Can play characters which are completely different from each other. Has a penchant for being violent (In movies, I mean). Very, very versatile.

My Edward Norton Movies – Fight Club, American History X, Rounders, Primal Fear, Red Dragon. The Italian Job.

Although, he did not make it to the list, a special mention has to be made about Tobey Maguire, especially for his performance in Seabiscuit.

Some Other Promising Actors are Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, Ashton Kutcher, Orlando Bloom, Chris tucker etc.
