Shocked by user picks, lol

I've been looking at the reviews, and I'm shocked.

I must say that for the most part I would NEVER go to see the actors mentioned in these lists, EVER !

LOL

(With the possible exceptions of Johnny Depp and Ethan Hawke. Depp made ''The Black Pearl'' more entertaining than most movies. He was very good in ''Edward Scissorhands'', too. Ethan Hawke was in one of my favorite films ''Snow Falling on Cedars'' -- great job, there Ethan. I see Ethan Hawke has written 2 novels. Looking around on the internet, I found positive reviews on the first one. It contains many sex scenes, I am told.)

I started to research Jet Li because of the upcoming release HERO which I am sure to see.

Here's a great site for HERO and Jet Li's Official Site, too :

Jet Li's site :

(visit the home page to see the flags of the many countries where Jet Li has fans, very nice official site, better than most)

ANYWAY

I've been renting Jet Li DVD's and most of his movies are good. He does a fine job as an actor in them. ''Meltdown'' is the funniest. Much of Kill Bill #1 seems to have been taken directly from here, there's a mass massacre in a ''ballroom'' and the yellow suit is almost exactly the same. (This yellow suit does not become covered with blood like Uma Thurman's, lol.)

Even though ''Red Dragon'' had lots of kids, kiddy-style humor, and reminded me of an old-time Disney live action film, I think it was my fav. Most people would NOT pick that one, however.

Jet Li was good in ''Romeo Must Die'', which I saw in the theaters. ''Kiss of the Dragon'' is cinematically more sophisticated; it's filmed in Paris. I enjoyed ''Black Mask'', too.

Some of the more ordinary shots in Jet Li films remind you of American TV series episodes -- for example Columbo or Hawaii Five-O . I have 3 or 4 more rental DVD's to see, and my research will have to stop, due to local availabilities.

QUESTION :

I see no reviews on Jet Li or kung fu in general at MouthShut. Does anyone have any suggestions on martial arts films -- which are the most notable for someone who doesn't know much about them ?

ALSO :

What does anyone think of Jet Li ?

I think he is a GREAT actor in his films. There is NEVER a disappointment at seeing him on the screen -- his performances are FLAWLESS. Even if this kind of film is not your favorite, you will have no objections to the work of JET LI.

Thanks for any suggestions for films and for any comments you can make on JET LI.

Jerry

P.S. -- I was so shocked at the 5 best actors lists, that I can't even think of who I would list, LOL
