Remix-As soon as someone hears this word what would probably his/her mind would be thinking is that ?chalo ek aur original composition ko waste kar diya?. People are not generally fond of Remixes specially of the Old Gem Hindi songs and then publicizing those remixes with those half-naked videos. I m not much a fan of remixes but I have heard it takes quite a pain to create a remix especially with original vocals. For me remixes go as a 35:65 ratio (65% being the original compositions). Ok I like some of those remixes and since I came across this title at MS I thought maybe I should write my choices for this too.

P.S: Kaanta Laga and Chadti Jawani types don?t qualify in my list. And I m taking into account the remixes who?s videos haven?t been offensive to viewers (By offensive u know what I mean!!)--(If at all the videos are aired)

1. Dil Kya Kare--Instant Karma--6.52 min

This is the remix of the beautiful original number Dil Kya Kare from the movie Julie sung by Kishore Kumar (If I remember rite). The remix is from Instant Karma I think they were Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy at that time. The remix has been sung by Shaan. I somehow like this song. Its not the usual remix with those ?extra? beats and rock and techno music attached. The song begins with about 1 min music composed with flute, keyboard, drums and then Shaan starts singing. This song somehow has a sad feeling attached to it and which I why probably I like it. There is a bit of English singing in this song as well and Shaan goes over singing them in this song. Overall a good song.

2. Pehla Nasha--Dance Remixes--4.42 min

I don?t know actually where I found this song from. I think my friend gave me this one. Originally this song is from Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander sung by Udit Narayan and Sadhna Sargam. Although the original piano composition(not at the start) and the original vocals have been retained the song has additional music of drums and guitar (as I can find them). There is also a continuous flow of vocals in English in the song. Mind u the pace of the song is the same as it was for original so the song doesn?t really move as fast as a typical remix would go and that is why I like it. The video is also aired for this song it contained glimpses from the original song as well.

3.Bombay in my soul--D.J.Suketu-440 Volts--6.19 min

Frankly speaking I like this song (instrumental rather) because of its fast pace. It?s the re-composition of Bombay Theme. Starts off with fast paced music similar to that of a typical remix. But what I like about the song is the whole sung moves along only on flute. So we can say that the singer in the song is flute. The fast music is there but it?s the flute which plays the most important part. If u have seen the video of Pyar Zindagi hai then the starting part of the song is this instrumental and then the song Pyar Zindagi hai proceeds in the video.

4.Flute Fantasy--D.J.Nasha--5.37 min

Once again it?s the flute that does the job. This song is the re-composition of the Hero-theme. It?s a typical disco-number alrite. But the flute has been played exceedingly well in this song. Mind u this song along with Bombay in my soul have no vocals. In this song although there are slight background vocals (semi-classical) type. The main hero-theme starts after 2 mins or so while the flute continuous throughout the song.

5.O Humdum Suniyo Re--Saathiya--3.57 min

I am not too sure whether this song can be included as a remix. But Saathiya soundtrack says that this is the remix. So I guess the slower version of O Humdum Suniyo Re, Mangalayam that is, is the original one. All of u mite have heard this song and liked it. And I like it too. I don?t think there is any need for any futher description of this song. A.R.Rehman has done a fab. Job in composing the music for this song and there is rap as well. All in a nice hummable tune can be listened my times.

O.K reached to the end of my review. This is rather one of my short reviews. But I don?t think I need to writer more and bore you. By the ways Comments are as always awaited.
