Cricket is a national passion and the beauty of the game lies in its un-predictability and thats what makes it so popular and exciting.And to the credit of this remarkable game we have had innumerable good cricketers whom we have admired and enjoyed watching.Here I am going to pick a few of my fav cricketers, the cricketers of my generation, the one's I have watched and admired for their sheer brilliance as players and for the excitement they create on the cricket field.
MY FIVE BEST CRICKETERS ARE:
1.SACHIN TENDULKAR(INDIA):What do I say for this master blaster from India?He has time and again proved that he is the best batsman in the world and way above the others.No player in the world has so much hope and expectations of the people vested in them, as in Sachin and he more than lives upto their expectations which is commendable and also is a proof of his talent and temperament.He has got grt drive and zeal for the game and when in full flow he creates havoc.He is only 27 years of age, and has several records to his name and with almost a decade of top cricket left in him, I wonder what's he gonna do?
To quote one of Rev David Shepherd comment'Sachin Tendulkar!If he isn't the best player in the world, I want to see the best player in the world.
2.STEVE WAUGH(AUSTRALIA):Steve.W the current Australian captain is one of the grtest player of the modern era and my absolute fav.What I admire the most about him is his dedication, proffesionalism and that he never gives up till the very end.There r very few players who perform the best under pressure and Steve.W is one of them.He is such a cool and reliable player that one feels a sense of comfort and security when he goes out to play.He is also a outstanding leader and such a powerful presence in the field.He has won many matches for Australia and will continue to do so as long as he plays.
3.WASIM AKRAM(PAKISTAN):He has to be one of the greatest cricketers Pakistan has ever produced.He is a complete all-rounder, but when we talk about Akram, the first thing that comes to mind is his devastating bowling.There is absolutely no gainsaying that he is a brilliant bowler, who bowls with so much authority and dynamism that it is a treat to watch him.He has won so many matches for Pakistan on the sheer basis of his magnificant bowling and especially his deadly yorker which he bowls in the last few overs.I also enjoy his batting b'coz he is an exciting batsman and can tear apart any bowler on his day.For me he is the best allrounder and one of the reasons I enjoy cricket so much.
4.SAURAV GANGULY(INDIA):He is one of the best and most stylish left hander the world has seen since Lara's debut.I love his play, he is an exceptionally talented player and a wonderful and effortless stroke player.In the words of Ian Chappel'Ganguly is an artist when it comes to timing and placement'.He does time the ball beautifully without putting any power behind it.He is also slowly but surely emerging into a great allrounder, and if he works on some of his drawbacks like fielding and running between the wickets he may well become one of the alltime grts of Indian cricket.
5.JONTY RHODES(S.A):In cricket think Jonty.R and u think fielding.He is arguably one of the best and most spectaculatr fielder of all times.I think he makes the game so thrilling and exciting with his unbelievable fielding.He is responsible for inspiring a whole lot of cricketers from all around the world to devote as much time to fielding as they do to batting and bowling.I really admire his commitment on the field.He is a flawless fielder and in a way has redifined fielding in the modern context of the game.
These r a few of my fav cricketers and I think I luv them as much as I luv cricket.
