5 best cricketers in test matches; since I started knowing ''cricket'' i.e. since 1957 till today 2002.
My view is totaly depending on my personal experience;because I was cricketer since early school days (since1960).
From that time till today . I will put my choices as under---.
1)Hanif Mohammed (India-Pakistan)
He was best opening batsman I have ever seen. He was born in India;played some domestic matches in India;but unfortunately later on he started playing for Pakistan.He was greatest record breaker of his time. First batsman to be compared with Sir Don Bradman; because he was first to break his record of triple centuries in test matches.Also in first class cricket he made 499;which was highest. Lucky fellow;he was watched by Sir Don Bradman [father of cricket] himself & He himself called him ''LITTLE MASTER''.[original]
2)Sir Garfield Sobers-(West Indies)
Absolutely unmatched ''All-rounder''. (a great middle-order batsman and spinner )He broke Hanif's record in the same match scoring triple centuries. He was a very good captain also!!
3)Deshman Heyns-(West Indies)
He was superb opening batsman not only in tests but was also equaly good in one day matches also. He was fist to complete feat of 7000 runs in both the dept. of cricket!!
4)Kapil Dev-(India)
There are no two views about his performances.He is Greatest.For a fast bowler to survive so long in tests as well as in one day;is the biggest achievement.
5)Steve Waugh-(Australia)
He has proved himself many time that he is the only batsman who can win matches for his country as a powerful stroke player ; a goos bowler & also very intelligent captain.
It is not only a personal record which matters but how one plays to win matches or save them from defeats!! This is the only criteria I have selected best five!!!
