- I felt like posting a review today, was hunting for a topic. Brand- an interesting thing to write upon! Though this topic falls in'Shirt and Trousers' category-my review will be generalised!
Some brands over a period of time become synonymous with the product itself-because of various reasons- Quality, Consumer satisfaction, Aggressive publicity and so on!
For eg- Nescafe and Coffee, Colgate and Toothpaste, Cadburys and Chocolate, Bisleri and Mineral water, Reebok and Shoes, etc

Personally, I am not a VERY GREAT believer in BRAND NAMES, especially not for all consumer items. But when it comes to items of DAILY USE such as Clothes, Shoes, Watches- branded items makes life easier!
The top 5 brands as per my personal experience:(Will be concentrating on Brands for Women in this review- may be an exclusive one for MEN later for the benefit of my male friends on MS)
1. Provogue Shirts for Women: Trendy tag
Yours truly picked up 4 this year(gift to myself for being such a Good GAL! Very happy with the good bargain!- I have promised myself-4 more shirts- in the NON-SALE period- if I manage to stay away from MouthShut for a whole day( He haaa haaaa(lots of .coz I know that will never happen)
Available in XS, S, M, L sizes, most pastel shades, in 100% Cotton and Cotton rich fabrics. Full sleeves/ 3/4th sleeves, sleeveless.
This is excellent for office wear, and the colors are such that you can mix and match with most trousers.
Pricing may be somewhat steep, but the half-yearly sales(upto 50%)at Provogue outlets and Crossroads(Mumbai) make it very much affordable.
2.Garnier Hair Color: Spice up your locks
The fastest way to make heads turn;-)! All these years carrying a headfull of dark brown(its nearly black but for my satisfaction-i say dark brown)-i thought, it was time for a change. Garnier hair color seems to be a safe option -will not force you to color your hair permanently(ie.wont make your hair premature grey).
One can use this for streaking or covering gray as well.I used this for heavy streaking and it has lasted nearly three months, and the texture of the hair has not been damaged.
When it comes to SKin and Hair care, its always safe, and highly imperative that one uses tried and tested brands, or it will be the same PENNY WISE POUND FOOLISH story!
3. Timex-Watches: Never late for a date
Ever since the mobile phone revolution came up, the watch industry must have received a JOLT! Fortunately, there wouldnt be many people like me, who stopped wearing watches because'Cellfone par time dikhta hai na!' But guess what, I was passing through the TIMEX showroom window and something caught my eye and stopped my feet. It was the bold and the beautifulCollection by Timex, Steel Straps, Innovative designs, Big Dials and Snazzy-Jazzy looks. All this OOmph came for a price-but seemed to be worth it-even for a *KANJOOS *like me!(Actually it wasnt too high priced-1500 bucks)
So, I simply walked in and purchased the best looking one, with the Oval dial-Spring Blue sky-backdrop, Steel strap(with a buckle-yeah-that was a new concept a year ago), and since that day I have never left hom without my Fav timekeeper-TIMEX.(No complaints so far!
4. YSL-Opium Perfumes: As intoxicating as OPIUM!
Perfumes, ummmmmmmmm, I guess are an integral part of every Woman's Dressing-to-Kill! I love them myself and no other has managed to beat OPIUM for the first place in my FAVORITE Perfumes List.
Introduced in 1977 by French designer Yves Saint Laurent, Opium is smoldering and dramatic. This unique oriental fragrance has notes of plum, hesperides, clove, coriander, pepper, jasmine, rose, carnation, sandalwood, vetiver, myrrh, benjamin, opopanax.
Great for evenings, a little strong for daytime, and the fragrance is absolutely lasting-stays on your skin, even after a shower!
Warning:Quite a danger for Married men whose GF's use Opium, wives can smell this from a mile LOL
5.Reebok-Shoes: Race against time
Well, if all the above has to enhance one's looks, there is no way out but to keep oneself in shape! No amount of money spent on brandnames(not even Provogues, Timexs, Garniers, YSLs)will get one anywhere, if Physique and health is neglected.
Reebok has been a faithful friend, SOLEMATE, ever since I got addicted to this one activity-other than MS-ie-WALKING.
Funnily, shoes are nearly the first thing I see each morning.Reebok has been good in fit, proper support, flexibility and cushioning.
It is worth every Penny(oops Rupee-no duty free shopping here), durable, comfortable-no bunions, corns, callosities -Come on-our feet deserve that much.
