There have been some hilarious performances by so many actors/stars on Indian cinema...but I am picking the ones for whom comedy came naturally & whose timing was exceptional ..even if the rest of the cast didnt live upto their expectations.....
- *Mehmood
*Mehmood was like a benchmark for all Indian comedians. He could pack in hilarious moments (Pyar Kiye Jaa, Do Phool) while also make the audience cry..(Kunwara Baap).
- *Sanjeev Kumar
*A complete actor. Comedy came easily to this great actor. His lines in the movie might not be the funniest...but you wont resist smiling when he was around. Angoor was a classic thanks to actors like him.
- *Govinda
*More than his dance..it was his comedy which helped him survive the industry. This guy is the opposite of Sanjeev Kumar... Sanjjev Kumar could do comedy even without all those cfrazy comedy lines...whereas Govinda can even make sense to the most nonsense of situations & the most meaningless of dialogues/jokes. Thats also an art. Convincing & making people laugh at something which is beyond their bheja. Like they say...Govinda ka movies dekhne se pehle..apna bheja side table pe rakh dene ka & then watch his movies....& then it is all Hilarious.
- *Paresh Rawal :
*Paresh rawal is also a complete actor like Sanjeev Kumar..can fit into any role. remove this actor from his movies...& there is no comedy left anymore in the movie. Thats how much impact this actor makes to every comedy role.
- *Johnny Lever / Arshad Warsi:
*Couldnt resist leaving either of them out which is why Im including them together at no.5. Johnny Lever was a standup comedian so comedy was easy for him. But both Johnny Lever & Arshad Warsi are the kind of comedians who immediately bring a laugh or smile on your face the minute they appear on screen. You are left wondering..what will these guys do next???
Arshad Warsi was brilliant as Circuit..in the Munnabhai Series... a role of a lifetime. Circuit is as memorable as Gabbar in the history of Indian cinema.
