Well when on starts rating Indian actresses he takes on the massive task of categorising the actresses on skill, looks and screen presence. trust me it takes a brave person to write the review because he risks disappointing a lot of people who do not find their favourite on the list. Here is my list and once again I am sure you will agree personal preferences will take a priority.
5) Tabu- Why? Because lets face it she may not be the prettiest that was ever on the screen but she was able to pull through the industry on one thing. Acting skill. We all know what she did in Astitva(If you did not watch it you missed out). And not to mention she has got a typical Indian woman presence on the screen. Definitely an actress who deserves to be on the list for her skill if not her height.;-)
4) Madhuri Dixit- Hai! Make no mistake she may have not aged as gracefully as Rekha but we all know that she was setting the screen on fire in songs like Dhak dhak karnay laga and choli kay peechay kya hai. And lets face it she can act no questions on that so getting closer to the perfect package in terms of being an actress
3) Jaya Bachan- Well yes she is not as tall as most actresses. But her childish smile in movies like mili would make even the most stone hearts melt. And yeah if Amitabh Bachan married her that speaks volumes about her. So not much more to be said there.
2) Madhu Bala- I think there should be a seperate section about her on the website. Such feminine grace and beauty wow!. I mean there is not a single parameter that she fails to meet as an actress or as a poster girl. A true Indian beauty. If she had been screen today she would have made all other actresses look dumb.
And the winner is
1) Karishma Kapoor- I know you are all going WHAT? well take this into account she has achieved more than what her peers have. She is no doubt one of the most improved actresses in terms of looks. screen presence and of course in terms of acting. She is no doubt a clear winner make no mistake. And she looks stunning in movies like Subside and Raja Hindustani. Of course you may say I am a little biased because I have a big crush on her but that is fair enough I guess.
