With this review I will complete up my series of best and worst actors/actresses of bollywood. Its all ending with a good note as I am writing my last review on this series on the 5 best actresses.
Just repeating it again that I do not want to hurt anyone’s emotion since in my previous reviews some readers were offended with the choices I have made. Its just my personal opinion and as always I will try my best to JUSTIFY my choices. Most importantly this review is based on the current slot of Bollywood so you will not find any MADHUBALA or Meena kumari here.
But in this male oriented industry its very difficult to find 5 top actresses.
So here it goes…
1) Rani Mukherjee
She is ruling the box office. Initially she started her career with a very low budget and C-Grade movie Mehndi. In which she played a rather sex oriented female lead. That movie was a big flop. At that time her cousin Kajol was ruling the Box-office. Then came her big break with Kuch Kuch hota hai. Although she had a very small role in the movie but that role was meaty enough to give her the platform from where she can launch herself in the industry. Then Kajol left the industry and she was seen as her replacement not only CAUSE she was her cousin but she had a lot many common things as with Kajol..She was then spotted by the Khan camp and Johars and chopras. Movie like Sathiya. Chalte Chalte , Hum tum and Veer Zara showed her real talent. No doubt she is the number one today.
2) Preity Zinta
Cute face and bubbly character that’s how we can describe this women. She is one of the best looking actresses of Bollywood and performance wise also she has made a big mark. She started her career with Dil se she acted very well in that movie taking into account it being her First movie she really did Justice to her role. Then I can remember her performance in Kya kehna a very different movie in which she came with a brilliant performance. She made it to the top with Koi Mil Guya and Kal ho na ho. Most recently she again came with a superb performance in Veer Zara. So preity is no doubt the number-2 at this moment.
3) Sushmita sen
I treat Sushmit as the most under-rated actress of Indian cinema. She has got everything of being a big star .she has got looks a perfect body, a sexy voice and most importantly she is talented enough to do any kind of roles. Her performance in Samay. Main hoo na and most recently in Main aaisa hee hoon was worth watching. Her most recent movie Main hoo na was Ajay devgan’s movie which proved to be a flop all the critics have written off this movie. But there was one thing common among all. All the critics and public have acclaimed the performance of Sushmita Sen. So she is the number-3 for me.
4) Lara Dutta
I know this will be a controversial choice. But I really can’t find any other actress better than lara. Loking at the kind of roles she is being offered and the way she has performed those roles makes me include her in my Top-5 list. Her PERFORMANCE IN Jurm and Masti is worth watching. Most importantly she got great looks and she is a good dancer as well. She just needs to grab some big projects and than she will be at top and no one can stop her.
5) Ayesha Takia
She is the face of 2004. She not only got great looks but is immensely talented also. She is so very simple and down to earth and its always a treat to watch her. The way she has performed her role in Socha na thaa is worth watching. She is a star of the future.
Well I must say it was really difficult to find 5 top actresses in current bollywood.
