I bought this for Rs 24000 in Mar 2021 from Amazon. The first thing one has to do is also order a screen protector. I bought the Prime Retail Compatible with Versa 3 Tempered 5D Full Edge to Edge Coverage Screen Protector. This fits seamlessly. Fitbit has been bought by Google so likely there will be some more software improvements and innovations.
The watch is waterproof and can be worn while bathing or swimming. There is an extra strap, charging cable in the box. It can be used for time keeping, timer, alarm, stopwatch as basic modes. It can also be used for a variety of fitness tracking - all types of exercises, walking, running, golf and most common exercise modes. It can track ones sleep every night which gives a lot of detailed information for improving your sleep.
It has a fairly reliable breakup of sleep in deep sleep, REM sleep, light sleep and restoration when Heart Rate(HR) is below normal resting HR while sleeping. One's daily movements including climbing stairs are tracked and converted into Cals consumed.
It looks good and is comfortable to wear. The capacitive switch to change modes, switch on etc is easy to use once one is accustomed to its location. There are many free watch faces to choose from and also one can buy watch faces from around Rs 100 to 200. There is a huge variety available. There are also some apps available for free - some come along with the initial software loading like alarm, assistant, weather, agenda(calendar) etc.
All the functions are controlled using the Fitbit app on the android phone. Once it is connected it is quite simple and one does not have to bother to sync the watch and the Fitbit app - it all happens automatically.
The good thing about this watch as compared to the Apple watch is that the battery life is 5 to 6 days. If you use always on display(AOD) it lasts 2 days. You can set the display to show the clock face and apps etc by pressing the on button. Also one can set it for automatic display when you lift your wrist to look at the watch it automatically comes on. One can set the display to be on for 8 secs and a few more longer time options.
It has a major function of helping you with improving your health and fitness. It helps in monitoring your daily activity and keeping track of your sleep and heart rate. You can start any exercise routine or walking, cycling, running etc and it will keep track of your activity.
The good features of this watch are:
1. You can take phone calls on it.
2. You can get your SMS, WhatsApp and email messages on the wrist watch.
3. You can dictate a reply or some canned responses are also there.
4. You can set up the watch to use Google Assistant or Alexa. Speak your queries into the mic and replies will come over the watch speaker.
Some of the drawbacks are:
1. The screen response to touch takes some effort to master. Even then it can be hit or miss.
2. Occasionally it might lose bluetooth connectivity with the phone.
All in all, it is quite a useful watch with practical features. You can attend many of your communication requirements without having to take out and open your cell phone.
