Story:

I ahven't been reading self help books for a long time now but recently I was at the Crossword Bookstore at Inorbit Mall and it was quiet afternoon and the perfect day to read a book. I saw the self help section and the book ''Fish''. The title and the book looks like it is a storybook for kids and the language does seem a bit preachy but I raced through the book in one go.

Well, what's the book about ? It is a book about recognising your own hidden strengths and believing in yourself. A story about how positive and gogetter attitudes can help turnaround even the toughest problems in your life. The heroine had a good life and then tragedy struck and she was left alone to deal with the problems. Did she succumb, did she give it all up?. There were times when she felt overwhelmed and the thought did cross her mind- what am I doing? Can I do better. Then sure enough she meets a fishmonger who teaches her how to love her job and make every job exciting and meaningful. She begins with her department which has been called the 'toxic energy dump' by the rest of the compnay and motivates the folks there by using the simple strategies outlined.

In the end, it does boil down to the simple maxims which we tend to forget in our daily lives. The power to make even fishmongering a job that is interesting and great fun. The book can be read in half and hour and the simple strategies do tend to stay with you much after you have read the book. If at the moment you feel your life is going nowhere and down in the dumps about your job go and read the book it will perk you up a bit. Good luck!
