First of all I would like to clarify that this review is in relation to Order No: 117185MBC87BC412 placed on 7th Feb 2013. This was not my first order with firstcry.com but it is definitely my last order from them.


Though I will be at a loss of Rs.214 after writing this review, but it is worth it. I had ordered 2 pairs of shoes, one pair of sandals and one diaper bag. As per the instructions on the website I had measured my child's feet and added 2 centimeters to it and ordered the products.


Two out of three pairs of footwear fit perfectly, but a pair of shoes did not fit my child properly. I decided to return the small shoes and request an exchange for a larger size. This was a big mistake.


When you order from firstcry.com the package contains a plastic bag for returns of clothes and footwear. The plastic bag contains firstcry.com's account number which they claim to have with Blue dart couriers and a bar code. In an ideal world all one has to do is stuff the return merchandise in the plastic bag and drop the bag to the nearest blue dart office.


To my surprise when I tried to ship the shoes back to firstcry.com through blue dart, the courier people told me that the account number was invalid and they refused to take the package. As blue dart's office is far away from my home, I decided to call the? center and the customer care executive gave me another account number they were suppose to have with Blue dart.


The second account number did not worked and blue dart refused to take the package. I sent a mail to firstcry.com and explained them the situation. The very next day I got a call from first flight couriers regarding the pickup and the package was picked up and dispatched on 14th Feb 2013 by AWB no. TP0102358 and has reached Pune on 15th Feb 2013.


Now First Cry people are refusing to take the delivery as they do not want to pay the courier charges. I ask why arrange for a free pickup when you do not want to pay and take the delivery, I would have spent Rs.100 and have sent to you through another reputed courier.


Now whenever I call firstcry.com's call center they provide me a different excuse and I have to explain them the same story each and every time. Though I have only lost Rs.214 as I had returned a single pair of shoes, I feel sad because I had ordered various products through them for my child and initially there service was great.


But it is not just my loss, I would have easily ordered more then Rs.20000 worth of products from them in the coming years as my child is very young and firstcry.com had a great selection of products.


Ordering from firstcry.com is like gambling your money on the race tack, you should quit while you are ahead because eventually you will loose all your money

We have tied up with Blue Dart so that the return process for our customers becomes seamless and in fact most of our customers are benefiting from the same. However, there could be certain scenarios such as yours where Blue Dart Desk does not approve of the this facility and the lose reason for that being the fact that they either are not aware of the changes or do not wish to offer service for reasons know to them.
However, we have already taken this up with our counterparts at BD and they are looking into it. And this is the same reason we got the item picked up from your end.
Now one thing that we would like to share is that when we initiate a pick up for any of our customers, we pay the courier partner for that pick and the customer does not have to make any payments. As such, the update on FirstFlight site about payment not ready is incorrect because the payment from our end happens on a monthly basis across all the pick ups that we initiate with them.
Having said that we have already informed our team to check why FF has put up an incorrect update.
We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience which you had to go through. We will have our team call you and provide a resolution at the earliest.
