Cheats, thieves - DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM HERE. Review on Firstandsecond

(The events described below are my personal experiences only)

DONT EVER USE THIS WEBSITE. These people are cheats.

Most horrible online shopping experience I ever had.

The website looks inviting and lists all the books you need. But once you select the books and place the order the nightmare begins. It makes me wonder if the site is just a front to cheat people and if they ever ship anything at all.

Some of my observations:

1. When you register to the website, there is no confirmation e-mail. Are they so bad in service or just plain sinsiter.

   
   




2. I placed the order 15 days ago, but the order status is still "under processing". The credit card was charged for within 3 days, so I wonder if I ever get to see my money back.

   
   




3. Unresponsive customer support. Forget about getting a reply if you ever write to them. I tried a couple of times but did not get any response. So I called them. I am a student outside India, so I had to call international. There was no reply for the first ferw times. Finally one dude did answer and he was un-cooperative, telling me to hold for extended periods of time. He couldnt pull up my order number then finally became evasive when I got frustrated and asked him to cancel the order.

I did some more search about them and uncovered the following:

1. The address firstandsecond.com is hosted at DEL.GK1.203.200.89.14.static.vsnl.net.in(any hackers out there reading this;). This is actually a static IP allocated by vsnl(indian ISP) in New Delhi Greater Kailash area. This sham looks like a garage operation which explains the shabby service and delays.

   
   




2. Mails to all addresses listed on the site(corporate@firstandsecond.com) etc bounce. Makes me wonder if writing to them(at the customer service page) helps at all.

   
   




3. Phone rings and rings.
