I have ordered a book on-line with FirstandSecond and paid with my credit card. The company was very prompt in collecting the payment, but my order perpetually shows as "under process". The book is not yet delivered, and it is not clear how long it takes. There is no response to my email queries, and I am not even sure whether someone is dealing with them. Messages left on their web-based query form got bounced, saying that the site was "blacklisted". This is rather strange, and shows that the firm has not properly tested its software related to customer feedback.
Probably this is very low on their priority list, as it doesn't fetch them any financial benefit directly. I think it is crucial for any on-line business to promptly respond to customer queries, to build trust. The whole thing looks rather shady to me, and this just appears to be a moneymaking enterprise rather than bookselling. I think some leagal action needs to be taken against this firm. If they are not sure of the availablility of an item, they have no business to collect the payment. I am definitely going to discourage everyone from dealing with this site, and will do all I can to spread the word.
