It started with a Joke…yes you heard right a Joke! He sent me a joke….and it was Funny. A month passed and he kept sending me forwards, some were hilarious and some touched my heart! And then a week back, I got a very special mail. He was asking me out for a date! YES! At last…I always hoped he would. Thank you GOD! …I was getting tired of me ogling at him, who wouldn’t? he was after all the cutest guy on my office floor! And so well mannered…A Dream!.
I woke up this morning all smiles, I walked up to the mirror.and Oh-My-GOD a BIG pimple is staring right back at me….Hey I think it has two arms.its waving at me.yuck yuck yuck……Calm down take a breath and snap into emergency control mode!.so after resolving to apply Windex *(come on u have seen ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding).I went about my morning routine…all the time smiling like a jackass….I wonder why
Damn. this morning is not passing at all…when will the evening come, when will I see him. Well anyway time to go get ready …its 11:00 am already and I have to see him at 5:00 pm! So what should I wear? Perhaps this stone washed jeans with the Green halter top? Na…too casual. He will think I don’t care enough…. Oh! How about the pink floral dress? Good idea!.naaa he will think I am trying too hard….hey how about the grey skirt with the white top? Na…he has seen me wear it to office….Damn I don’t have enough clothes.maybe I should go shopping…should I go now? I might get late to go meet him….then again what will I wear if I don’t go shopping? Damn ….ah! forget it…I am wearing the Dress…atleast that looks pretty.
Time for makeup….should I wear makeup…maybe not…I should look natural.then again, I wear makeup everyday! So he has seen me with make up….or may be I should wear make up that makes me look natural…hahahahha…genius!
Damn I have to paint my nails, I have green nail polish on, that dosent go with pink…where is the stupid nail polish remover? And where is the pretty pink shade….help I cant find it….maybe I should go shopping to go get a shade…but If I’m going shopping.I might as well get a new dress….but I’ll be late…looks like I will have to wear this clear shade….bummer L
Goodness look its almost 4:00 …I better leave now.the coffee shop is almost 15 mins away, so naturally it will take me an hour to get there. ….but I have to still decide on the shoes! which one should I wear, the black open toe, the beige pumps, the red heels or the white flats….hmmmm, the Black will be too much of a contrast, but the beige will be too pale with this dress, hey how about the white? Maybe not…too while, not for this outfit, maybe the red…but what if he wants to walk around, I cant walk in those heels for more than an hour! Maybe I need new shoes, maybe I should stop in the mall before I meet him….but what if I am late, oh damn it….ok Red shoes it is…if he wants to walk …he’ll have to carry me (oh bonus Wink Wink;)
After walking all the way to the coffee shop (don’t ask why a single mode of transport was not available…including my car)…I sat down, my heart is beating at a 100 miles/hr, in anticipation. What will I say to him .how will I greet him, will he like what I am wearing? Will he notice my not so new haircut, I wonder if he will even notice that my nails don’t match my dress? How about the shoes? Does he like red?
Ooooohhh there is he! My heart is going nuts! He is looking absolutely handsome, tall guy, jet black hair, sparkling teeth, hazel eyes…he is riding on a white horse, I wonder why…who cares, ….I see him looking for me, searching the crowd for my face….Should I wave at him, or wait till he finds me…oh there.he sees me, be still my heart! Be still
He is walking towards me, his smile brightens up all the world around like a ray of sunshine, each step he takes is like a king’s stride, each step he takes brings him one step closer to me
He reaches out with his hand and in it is a beautiful red rose, a token of his admiration, I can feel myself blush, oh how lucky I am. He leans in close, looks me straight in the eye parts his gorgeous lips and says:
SHALINI! FOR THE LAST TIME.GET UP! ITS 7:00 ALREADY!
MOM! couldn’t you have waited for just a minute more? You just managed to spoil my first……. ahem….…dream!
So that was my first date(bummer) .….but hey its time to go to office…maybe I have received my first silly joke form the cute guy on my floor!
