Straight to the plot! Rob Brown (not to be confused with the former Pittsburgh Penguins Star) is a 16 year old who plays a high school student who is popular with his school friends because he's an amazing balla (basketball player). But secretly he has an even more interesting skill that being creative writing.

He comes into contact with Sean Connery. Though their personalities contrast, he is still able to persuade Connery to mentor him as a writer. Brown is subjected to peer pressure and lives in poverty. An interesting twist - his brother in this movie is a rapper (Busta Rhymes) who provides some moral support for his younger brother.

Brown makes it into a private school and is subject to race and class prejudice; even from teachers!

The whole movie your rooting on Brown's character and you feel like you wanna kill those mofo kids who make fun of him. I swear I was ready to jump at the movie screen and slash it through, lol. Humour and drama split 50/50 in this film as the type of movie that it is. A definite theater watch.
