Fila is supposed to be a piece of fashion and comfort. But jus incase u were looking out for a bit of quality, i'd suggest u to look out elsewhere.
I had got a Fila sandals last Jan 2007 for 1.4k and trust me I enjoyed the comfort. It was a light weight sexy looking piece. and my usage also wasnt much for a while. But even with that, within a couple of weeks I noticed that the sole had come out to a great extent. I was informed that it was a manufacturing defect and was replaced with a new piece cos it had just been a coupla weeks then. After bout 3 months I cud see the same thing happening and the pasting started coming out. My warranty period had crossed and so got a free service done.
It never goes to the factory for a service. It had actually gone to a nearby cobler, as informed by the shop security person.
And then in the next 6 months I faced this issue twice and got it serviced. So in a span of 9 months I had 1 replacement and 2 services to my sandal.
It was in a decent shape until the rains. It got drenched in the rain once and after drying the upper layer came out at a few places making it look yucs.
Checked with the dealer and he still says "its a washproof sandal. Just that if u wash with water the upper layer mite come out and look patchy". So is that really washable??
Looks like Fila has its own definition of the term "Washable"
Whatever said and done, it was not a great experience with Fila and unless I see a really eye catching piece from Fila, I wudnt even think of getting one again !!
I have now got the similar model from iD- a brand of lee cooper for 1695 and this time I made sure the sandal I got was made of a good material. It infact has a leather coating on top which ll for sure prevent what happened with Fila to happen wit my iD.
Fingers Crossed anyways !!
