Fight Club is a film about madness, darkness, satire and black comedy all ensembled into a powerful story that is effectively narrated by director David Fincher.

The film begins with the central character Edward Norton and his disinterest in his job. Returning from an official trip he bumps into Brad Pitt.

Norton not only loses his luggage at the airport but as he returns home, he sees that his apartment has caught on fire. Since he has nowhere to go, he meets up with Brad Pitt in a bar and a couple of drinks gets provoked by Pitt to hit him with ''all his strength''.

This leads to the formation of the 'Fight Club' which is open to one and all. The prerequisites of the club are: you should be ready to fight; you are not at liberty to talk about the club; and you have to fight at least once if you are in.

The logic of the club is to break from the norms of the society. The men who become members of the Fight Club are victims of the corrupt powers of modern-day society. And the only way they can achieve their individuality is by getting in touch with the primal instincts of pain and violence.

The next thing we know is that the fight club turns into a terrorist group causing destruction all over the place.

Brad Pitt seems to be calling all the shots. And Edward Norton is his equal partner in crime.

Until one day when Norton feels that things have gone out of his hands and out of control and he decides to put an end to it.

The climax is what gives a new dimension to the entire film. One has to watch it to appreciate the brilliance of the director who impresses the audience as a brilliant narrator.

Although the film isn't a feel-good film at any given point, it is an experience in itself. There is a bit too much of the action, but that is the demand of the script.

The film excels in the department of performances. It seems to be a tailor-made role for Edward Norton and Brad Pitt is nothing less than brilliance.

Why should the film be seen? Like stated earlier, for the performances and for the twist in the climax.
