Ladies and Gentelmen, its time to review the latest Bollywood product to hit the town. After the success of Ishq-Vishq, producers Tips and director Ken Ghosh get back together for their second movie together. Only glitch is that this time they have attempted to make something bigger and more ambitious than their previous flick. Will it pay off for them , only time for them.

The movie opens with the shots of an internet robbery being carried out by some shady hacker. The money is stolen from a co which is just a front for underworld don Anna Bhai's black business. Anna is justficably enraged and asks his goons to

get him the guy who did that. Well...so far so good.

Then we have Jai Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor) , running a business of remodelling cars. He been an orphan since he was 9 years of age and has lived his entire life alone in his super-designer house with only faithful Ramu Kaka for company. He has with his own ''mehenat'' made himself ''Kamyaab and kaabil'' ... actual words spouted by a character.. I have not made them up..I swear!!!! That we see no evidence at all of him doing any work is secondary, I suppose.

He also has a friend Sonia (Kim Sharma), the resident semi-dressed bimbo cum hero's best friend cum the-girl-carrying-a-candle-for-the-hero. He is always boring her with stories of his dream girl even when she announces that she is waiting just for him.

One day, he spots Neha (Kareena Kapoor) on the road and is poora Fida over her on the spot. He manages to track her down and pesters her till she agrees to go out / falls in love with him. Turns out her father was a criminal who'd borrowed 6 crore rs from the underworld. So far they have been rather nice about it, but now they are getting a little testy and are threatening her. Well, loverboy is more than ready to rob a bank for her but stumbles upon a better plan.

He decides to loot the super rich Vikram (Fardeen Khan) whos carrying 7 crore rupees in his shoulder bag. Unfortunately, Vikram is some kind of a Bruce Lee wannabe and manages to capture him on the job. So over a nice long breakfast, our hero tells him his entire dukh-bhari-kahani. To cut a long story short, Vikram agrees to give him the 6 crores if he agrees to surrender to the police and take the rap for the internet scam. Yes, ppl, Vikram is the one whos done the deed and now wants Jai to foot the bill. Jai, naturally agrees and goes ahead.

Telling you anything more would be giving away what is already a rather flimsy storyline. So I'll leave it for you to watch.Suffice to say that it moves along predictable lines and turns into another one of those revenge thrillers.

Performance wise, Shahid is OK but he has somehow managed to loose the charm that he displayed in ishq-Vishq. And seeing him mouthing all those threating lines is funny. Like a schoolkid trying hard to be mature and all grown up. Perhaps he needs to do some more of those romcoms before trying to expand his oeuvre. Kareena , in a negative role (there ...I have put in a spoiler) is OK. Not much scope for any performance there, she manages to hold her head above the water.

Fardeen trying to be the super suave Vikram , does not succeed.

Ken Ghosh has tried for something ambitious this time around. But he fails in his effort. He has tried to create some kind of a Greek tragedy but is let down by the rather weak script and story. The chemistry between his key protagonists is rather weak and nowhere do we get the sense of urgency / despair that a story of this sort would demand. Added to this is the fact that the holes in the plot are bigger than all of Kim Sharmas wardrobe!!!!!

Having said all that, its not really as big a turkey as last week's release and will definitely be enjoyed by the teenybopper crowd. Anu Maliks music is OK, with one or two hummable numbers. On the whole, it is OK fare and I would give it 2.5/5.
