Sturdy vehicle.
Hitting Potholes at over 100 kmph have so far not damaged the suspension.
In 2004 December, I drove from Sambalpur to Mumbai and back with my family in the Petra.
What I like. Very much enjoyed the drive despite the bad roads.
Most liked when you rev over 4000 rpm in 3rd gear in mountainous terrain
Good performance on highway.
Good handling
Reasonably priced.
What I do not like.
Poor Service.
Poor Image
Low torque at low rpm.
Overall an excellent car, if only Fiat could give better service.
The diesel may be a more economic choice.
Power steering is good but I wished isteering was lighter at low speeds
Fiat could have sold this vehicle in larger number if they had better marketing and service,
One can seriously consider buying the Petrol version if one is not too economy conscious,
Good for long drives and a reasonably priced comfortable family car. It could have been more customised to suit Indian tastes (like Indigo).
