I have had a Fiat Palio Stile 1.1 for just more than a year. It is indeed an excellent car with good looks, ample clearance, good leg-room, sturdy pickup and overall, an excellent car, above the parameters of similar cars like Indica, Zen, Chevy Uva, Wagon R and others of this segment.
But the world knows how to balance goodness with the negative service that goes with it. Forget about Tata backing the service, you have to depend on the devil to get even minor repairs done. If a major repair comes about, God help the customer.
The reason is not that Palio does not care about service, it is the Tata dealers who revel at annoying the customer. It is a Tata definiive malady and the big name that people attach to Tata is now only an imagination. Customers may have noticed that not only in auto industry, Tatas have accepted greed as the guiding principle behind progress as others have chosen ( specially the big names of the industry) .
