Fiat Lenia. Review on Fiat Linea

I have bought Fiat Lenia Diesel - Emotion 3 months ago. A great looking European Car, stylish, great spacious dual tone interiors, steady on the road. Before finalizing Lenia, I did some research and drove other available options in Diesel segment in a price range of 8 to 11 lakhs. The deciding factors were brand although not very popular in India, the product and wanted to own a European car. It has great driving experience as compared to Suzuki & Hyundai cars.

So far I have driven over 4000 kms. The drive quality is really great, the suspension system makes the drive very comfortable but you will have to be careful about the low road clearance and slow pickup. Other than these 2 things I am really happy with the car. The driver seat is comfortable and adjustable even in low variants, unlike competition(Hyundai Verna). Has ABS, which is good feature to have. Arm rest for the front seats is good addition. Good to have vanity mirror on both visors. I am told that Blue & Me technology is also great but that’s available only in top variant. The mileage is also decent at 15.5 plus in city although I haven't tested it on long run but I am sure the mileage will be in the range of 18 to 19 kpl.

Good to have electronically controlled side view mirrors. Rear passengers have a/c vent, good space as well and seats are comfortable. Boot has good space. Could have been great have place to keep bottles in the front doors but unfortunately, it’s not there in Lenia.

Could have used more chrome inside as it’s done in Honda City. The inbuilt music system is also not very impressive. I am sure they can do a better job by changing the music system and it doesn't have pen drive option other than top variant. The door handles to open the car should have been like Honda city. These are small things but if you want to compete with your rivals, the car should have these. The after sale service is also not great. Getting it serviced is a challenge but the only good point is that cost is less and it needs to be serviced(2nd onwards) every 15000 kms. They could have put the head controls on right hand side like Suzuki or Hyundai cars.

The final verdict will be, very good product. Let’s see how it runs in coming months.
