Nothing much to write about from here as iam in UK right now but just got a magazine'WHAT CAR UK', pretty interesting to read about JD Customer Satisfaction for cars in the July Issue'09.

Well if one has a read about in that one, then in the family car's section you will find Fiat Grande Punto and Punto fairing pretty badly to say the least.

Wheras Grande Punto comes in an 20th place, its other sibling the'Punto' is termed as the worst performer.

Well the issues should be no suprise to us back home

  1. Reliability.

  2. SERVICE( had to put this in bold), at least we are not the only one's.

  3. Too many problems regards mechanical faults later of the car life.

  4. Residual Value very poor.

  5. Minimum dealer feed back out in UK and too many dealer issue's.

As you must be aware the used cars thrive out here hence the residual value is out most important.

Well Well Well, the most interesting to see is that 85% of the survey carried out on car owners, the top of the league is'Suprise, Suprise' HONDA JAZZ.

Well these guys recommend, minimal faults, excellent after sales service, totally reliable, good family budget car(not sure if this one will hold good back home).

The is trouble free for a long time, and believe me to pass an M.O.T test for cars out here is mother tough as the car gets older.

So I think for any new car buyer or first car owner at least with a newly launch product, I would guess give it 6 months to check for its performance and service network.

I have a few gora frienda here and when you take Fiat's Name, the only tihng that rings in their mind is problems galore, and it is not cheap to get things repaired here.

I read about peopl'es review on thier first drives of GP(Grande Punto), I must say many of us can be foxed, a good survey on the net and look about though tedious can surely save a lot of hassle's later.

I also test drove this vehicle out here but 1.6 Multijet so can't comment on 1.3( it was a friend of mine had 7500 mile on the clock desperate to sell it off as too much prob's with gear box and electrical componenets)

Cheers
