Just a brief story about my purchase
I never thought of buying a FIAT. One of friend pushed me to FIAT showroom when he wanted to purchase a premium hatchback. I had a MS Esteem then and never thought of buying a new car in near future. But we did TD of almost all premium hatchbacks (Fabia, Polo, i20, Vista etc). One day he said we will do a TD of Punto also and I told him that why to waste time on a car which we are not going to buy.
But he insisted on the TD and well that TD changed the whole view. In comparison with all the others, this was something else. After that there was no car that gave that much satisfaction during a TD. Punto had become a benchmark and I used to compare all the cars with Punto.
No other car came closure to Punto. After some time, I decided to replace my esteem and Punto was the only car I had in my mind. I did gave a thought to reduced priced Jazz, but still Punto won finally.
So here I am. After 1.5 years and 18000 kms
1.I think it is already proven that Punto has Best-in-class suspension, Steering feedback, Handling, Safety, Features. What more someone can ask for? I totally agree with all of above. I have driven various cars and I am still to find a better car than Punto or Linea under Rs 20 Lacs.
2.People talk about plastic quality, rattles and all. I haven’t found any problems with the plastic quality. I think cars manufactures post 2011 have good plastic quality. I had one or two minor rattles which went away automatically. I think problem occurs when you give too much attention to minor rattles.
3.I have never faced any issues with service. TASS has always been good and supportive. I have serviced my car from Fortune (Sakinaka) and TCRS (Worli) and no issues so far

4.Maintenance costs are minimum. I have just spent the money on regular servicing (1st and 2nd). Recently, because of some rat menace, my fuel guage was damaged and car did not start. Thanks to RSA and TCRS. Repair cost was only Rs. 574
5.People talk about Maruti Service. FIAT replaced one of my ORVM (broken because of my mistake) and Rear viper (broken by some kids) in Goodwill. Isn’t that a great gesture?
6.Most of the time I am a safe driver and avoid going above 100 (in city ). Max speed I have touched is 150 and it is as rock solid as on the speed of 40. One of friend who owns a Swift, just could not believe.
7.I have not done too many long visits. I have been to Surat, Navsari, Pune, Nasik etc. But never felt any tiredness or fatigue after the trip. I can drive it whole day without any issues

8.Looks – I don’t think I need to say anything here. Punto is always an eye catcher. Since, I have made it look like Abarth, it catches even more eyes. There are so many instances where people have asked me which car is this (in my office parking, on traffic signal etc).
There are so many occasions where people turns their head to check what logo is that and what car is that. It brings smiles and proud feeling within me.
9.I am sure this is with most of the FIAT owner (even those who hate FIAT) that it connects with your senses. You think and it goes there. You think and it stops there. You can trust her. I could never find that trust with any other car.
