I think many of us would have same confusion. Which is good diesel car to buy? I feel the only reason for this confusion is best service network of Maruti. It is so hard to believe that any other car manufacturer could match that service network and provide services when needed.

I am using Wagon R for last 6 years. This time thought to go for a diesel car. Started the hunt with so many options available. I was clear that I will go for hatchback. Started with Punto Active 1.3. Went to the showroom. The salesman was not energetic but shared the details of Punto Active Diesel. Next went to Maruti showroom ritz, swift, swift dizire. Good options available. I was surprised to know that swift dzire and swift has a waiting time of three months. Hard for me to wait that long.

Finally zeroed down to Punto Active and Ritz, had a test drive of both... needless to mention that Punto was far far better in every sense of driving. Enjoyed the drive. The salesman who came to my house with Test Drive car was reasonably knowledgable. However, the Active Diesel has no central locking which was not even available with the dealer. I asked if I can get it from outside.sweet reply.

Yes sir you can but warranty on wiring would lapse... well i asked about the price of Punto Emotion 1.3. 6.5 on road. Well if I go up to that budget I think I will have many more options. Adding one more lakh would get me Xylo. I am totally confused. Ritz I liked but boot space is limited and I am looking for change this time. I will be grateful if Ounto users could help me in deciding. Specifically I would like to know how frequently servicing is required availability of spare parts.

Thanks in advance
