It was agreed for delivery of Punto at 5 PM on 26-APR-2013 from Hyson Motors Cochin. We, the entire family gathered at Hyson Motors showroom at 4:45 PM to welcome the new member to our family. The front office guy greeted and asked us to wait for our sales person. The sales lead arrived after 5 PM and informed us the car will be delivered shortly, some Pre Delivery Inspection had been going on. So we waited in the lobby zipping the coffee served. Now it is 5:30 PM and no sign of the new car arriving.. it had to come from the service station which is less than 2 kms away. We got the reply as one door handle which was painted needs to dry up and that is the reason for delay - when enquired... and the car would be delivered shortly!
Just a background of the story:
On 23 APR 2013, I went to the showroom to see the car as agreed by Hyson Motors and when I reached the yard they informed that I cannot open and see the car as the key was with PDI person and that person was on leave. They assured that there is no damage or rust inside the car and they would do the painting of mirrors and handles (which was offered) the very next day (24-APR-2013) so that the car could be delivered on 26th. We had to trust them and the entire amount was transferred on 24-APR-2013 so that all the works would get completed by 26-APR-2013.
And still after the delivery time they are telling the painting work is not over!!!
The story continued and now it is past 6 PM. There came another man who is introduced as the general manager and we complained to him and he told the car is almost ready and will be taken to the showroom soon. At 6:15 the sales lead came up and told the car started from the service centre ... we eagerly waited to see the new car. It is 6:45 PM and Nothing happened.. against our enquiry they told it was all caused due to painting of the handle and asked us to wait. They were indeed lying that the car had already started from the service centre. And regarding the painting work it was Hyson motors who committed to do it and they had two full days to complete it after they received the full payment.
Even at 7:15 PM the car did not come and we lost all the interest to see the new car. There came a lady who is the sales manager and told us to wait for the car. We raised our voice and told them we are no more interested in your car and give back our money as only temporary registration is done. She told it was not at all possible to give back money and we have no option other than to wait for the car and for our relief someone told the cad has come then and we moved out... to see the car after waiting for 2 and a half hours… and we left with car at 7:45 PM after waiting for 3 hours.
I have never seen such an irresponsible bunch of guys as Hyson Motors Cochin.... treating customer like beggars who have to wait for their mercy. They were giving lies after lies as reasons for delay…
I still don't know the actual cause of delay.
But I think they wanted to deliver the car in the dark as we may not see scratches... as there were some near the mirrors due to unskilled workmanship which we noticed the next day.
I was wondering why there were not many Fiat cars on the road even though they have quality cars and I think now I got the answer…. I don’t know if it the policy of Fiat!!
