Hi, Fiat Adventure, cool dude on road...

Looks : A Pseudo SUV like Rugged and mean, It surely appeals to all those who love big machines. The Red car with black claddings all round makes it look really amazing. Those 14'' Pirelli tyres, the design of these tyres tell you its for out and out grip on any roads. It has got an aluminium foot step on either sides of the car to enable easy exit and entry into the car. The roof railings add to the beauty of this car, luggage, skies, cycles or boats, anything can be accommodated between them. Am sure you would think, this is just like the Indigo from Indica design and you are right, but the difference is, this time its Fiat and you have no room to complain.

Interiors:The deck has cheap interiors with unfinished edges, Am sure Fiat has saved money on doin the deck, its same as you see in a PALIO. The steering and Gear Knob are leather wrapped and makes you feel good when you hold em. The car comes with power windows and central locking as standard features. The seats are same as in Palio and the back seat spacing is better... There is loads and loads of space inside. Specially the boot, you can modify the boot to accommodate another row of seats if you wan, like you have in the Innova. The boot has no intrusions like the mudguard curves taking some space, its flat and is designed to take lotsa luggage around 2 cycles and all the luggage you need for a long outing. In all The quality of interiors is not all that great, but good if you are graduating from the Maruti`s (with swift as an exception).

Ride/Handling Coming to the best part of it... Fiat is one of the best car makers in the world and sure for the feel you get when you drive them. With ground clearance of 190mm from the lowest point of the car, so you can be sure none of those speed breakers will scrape the bottom of the car even when it’s fully loaded, which is a problem with most of the sedans. From the time I stepped into the CAR I felt am sitting in a SUV, a little high seating, comfortable for tall people sporty aluminum pedals makes you feel its ready to rev. The NVH levels are moderate and you would know if your engine is started and running... Switch on the AC and it will take about 5-7 minutes to cool the cabin and then you can start enjoying the cool drive, Put the gear into position 1 and the pickup is a lil sluggish and gets better as you go higher, typically the gear 3 is for slow moving traffic of the city, get into the gear 4 and the mill is ready to perform, the gear ratios are below 1:0.9 for gears 4 and overdrive which makes you feel the revs are coming on so easy and comes around 2.5-3K RPM, the power steering is really good and gives a good control of the vehicle. The steering is adjustable but not to a great extent. The gearshifts are not as crisp as you would find in the conventional links connected gearshift, its rubbery but smooth, probably one will get used to this with time. In Bangalore on the ring road I touched 120 KMPH with ease. The seating posture and the console are very ergonomic it keeps you relaxed. The Gear lever is perfectly positioned and one need not stretch to reach it, like the SCORPIO. Ride is comfortable and you would be surprised to know that you went over a bump and dint realize it, its got independent suspensions in the front and the back which surprisingly absorbs all the unevenness of the roads. Overall, has great handling.

Engine Have you heard of GTX, the PALIO GTX, Am sure anybody would have... It’s back and back for good. The GTX engines were first seen on the Sienas and were the most desired and powerful engines of that time churning 100PS out of a 1.6 liter engine. Its a DOHC, a double over head cam, which means the input and exhaust valves (16 valves) are open and closed by two cam rods with cams attached to them rotated at a speed controlled by the engine. It means more breathing capacity which makes it easier to do more with the same engine. If these mechanically operated cams are electrically driven we could generate about 20 BHP more of the same engine. The 14 KGM torque is good, but it could have been better, However, the engine is free reving.

The industry is moving towards adopting new way of rating engines, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) units. This will be the power truely available to the driver, SAE considers all the transmission and frictional losses before rating the Engine. Overall, its a great engine that drives this car !!!

Finance:I think one should contact their local dealers for this, but, generally available in the range of 6-6.5, so you may have to pay 1L down and drive home this machine and rest in EMIs of just over 11K

Is this car a good Deal ?, let us collate the facts:

1) Looks - great looking car, muscular and rigid. (Interiors are bad tho)

2) Power - 100 PS and a 1.6lt engine, its powerful

3) Thirst - 10 KMPL and 14KMPL (Highway), with AC on

4) Cost - 6.2-6.5 L

5) Maint. - Drive into any TATA dealer for service.

So, don`t wait get a test drive and feel the pride of owning one...
