Iron Maiden along with Blind Guardian are my favourite Metal band. Putting aside my personal preferences and in view of their having recorded some of the greatest metal albums, I would rate them the best metal group out there.

I bought this album a couple of years ago when I had just started listening to metal. Believe me, this is good. But maybe not everyone likes this sort of music, which is a pity because FOTD is a great album by a superb band.

I remember listening this cassette in my car a few minutes after buying it. It gave one of my friends a huge headache and how the driver managed to drive, I'm not sure, but I and two other friends of mine simply loved some of the songs.

I wouldn't really recommend you to buy this album if you are new to Metal, but this album will give you a good idea about some of the really good metal songs recorded.

Be Quick Or Be Dead - A brilliant opener!! Heavy and fast, beginning with fast drums and brilliant guitar play.

Written by Dickinson and Gers, which goes on to show how Gers had become an integral part of the Maiden by then.

From Here To Eternity - Typically Iron Maiden. I think this isn't one of the better songs of the album but the solo is definitely worth listening.

Written by Harris.

Afraid To Shoot Strangers - Misleadingly slow intro as the guitarists start weaving their magic, or should I say playing their magic.

Written by Harris.

Fear Is The Key- Good lyrics and an OK sort of melody. Nothing particularly great considering the standards of some other songs in the album.

Written by Dickinson and Gers.

Childhood's End - Great https://lyrics. The song starts lightly but the guitar solos are brilliant. It sort of belongs to this album.

Written by Harris.

Wasting Love - Some people don't like this song. They feel that it was written just to show the world that Bruce Dickinson can sing apart from shrieking his lungs out. I disagree. Its definitely a good song.

Written by Dickinson and Gers.

The Fugitive - Ok, what do I say about this song!! The adjectives I should use will sound extremely repetitive. Brilliant, superb, good, excellent guitars.

Written by Harris.

Chains Of Misery - Its a consistent song with neither any weak parts nor any really memorable parts in it.

Written by Murray and Dickinson.

The Apparition - I liked this song quite a lot when I heard it. But after hearing a lot more Maiden, I realized that this wasn't the typical Iron Maiden stuff. Anyway, it still remains a great song.

Written by Harris and Gers.

Judas Be My Guide - I'll call it one of my favourite songs of the album with some really great parts in it. Great guitar playing.

Written by Dickinson and Murray.

Weekend Warrior - I didn't really like this song very much. Its an OK sort but not particularly great.

Written by Harris and Gers.

Fear Of The Dark - THE MASTERPIECE!!! GREATEST SONG OF THE ALBUM AND ALSO ONE OF IRON MAIDEN'S ALL TIME BEST!!!

A light guitar intro followed by soft vocals over a decent guitar riff which is followed by the Maiden blast. Great songwriting. Whenever I am alone somewhere and its dark, I cannot help but sing this song ''I have a constant fear that someone's always there... Fear of the dark! Fear of the dark!''

Even though considered a mediocre album by many, it still remains one of my favourites as it was one of my first metal albums. It actually reached number 1 in many charts around the world.
