I engaged Fasttrack at Chennai domestic airport for dropping me at Sarojini Street, T Nagar. Though I visit Chennai quite often I am not well versed with all the streets in Chennai. By the way Sarojini Street is well known in T Nagar. All went well upto Saidapet. Afterwards he started asking me for directions. Fast track is not aided with GPS . My mobile was unfortunately not working on roaming so I could not show the driver the route. The driver was ill tempered & started cursing that I do not know where I want to go. I guided him to ask the shopkeepers or the rickshaw operators. But he seemed to be very unwilling & had to be persuaded a lot . Finally after an hour of searching and inquiring with various rickshaw wallahs he dropped us at Sarojini Street.
My second experience was when I engaged fasttrack from T Nagar to Thiruvamiyur. I was travelling with my mother. On the way I halted the tax at Ambika Depot, Adyar Signal for buying some eatables at Ambika, The car driver told me he will park near the depot away from the signal so that traffic police doesn't shoe him away. After purchasing when I return back I could'nt locate the taxi with my mother. After searching for over half an hour I became desperate. I requested help from people in a nearby car & thank god they happened to be from the media. They immediately contacted the traffic police & the police started searching . The police also could not locate. By this time I had started thinking of all possible things. The fast track control room was also informed. But the driver had switched off his phone. After a great deal of search the police located the driver in a by lane & informed me . I was relieved a lot.
On questioning the driver he told me that the police was shoeing him away so that was the safest place he found to park.
This experience left me never to use fasttrack again
