I had ordered from Fashion and You without checking Mouthshut. I usually buy lots of stuff online, and always check the reputation of the company I order from. This time if I lowered my caution. There was reason. Yahoo was endorsing F&Y in a big way, you couldn't miss it. And also Outlook magazine rated F&Y as the most popular online shopping club in India.


AS you could have guessed I didn't receive any update even after a month. I called up. After long waiting finally somebody picked up and assured me that my order will be dispatched the same evening. Again I called up for updates (I'd collected the executives mobile no:). She told me my order can't be send because of non-availability of items. (And they have put the same items on sale again now!!!!).By this time I had read all the reviews on mouthshut. I knew that I had to be careful to get my money back.


I asked to cancel the order, the executive readily agreed. But I received no cancellation mail. I mailed them to send me one. Nothing happened. I called up the executive again and made her send me one while I remained on line. But it had no order no, no bill amount or any relevant thing. I made her send another mail with these details. She did.


The mail said I will receive the refund in 72 hours. When there was no sign of it I called up again.They said there was some problem. I insisted that I need the refund immediately. She said, by the end of the day. That was 15th of September. I didn't get any refund even by 18th. I called up again. The executive said the refund has been made.When I called up on 19th again the executive confirmed the refund, even gave me a time of refund.On 20th on my insistance and after several calls she sent me a 'snapshot' of the transaction. According to it the refund was on 17th but the transaction no: was different. Atleast I was relieved that I'd get my money back. But even on 21st there was no sign of it. Again I  called up and I'd decided to give up my 'good manners'. I asked for the manager and I was given lot of explanations.Andfinally  by evening  I got the money in my account.


My questions are:


If you can't honour a customers order why put those items on sale?


When you have not honoured an existing order why put the same items on sale again?


Why not be transparent about payments?Why the playing around?


Why don't they respond to customers queries?


What about the endless calls I had to make?


This is no way to run a genuine business. I said genuine. If you jsut want to collect money from people on non existent items and rotate, it thats not what we say genuine. They collect your money and no questions asked for atleast 4 weeks. Very convenient..


Lesson learnt:


Never order anything else from F&Y.


If you refer someone else into this it is a nice way to sour your friendships with people.


To those who have already put their money into this.: Good Luck!


To those who are planning to order from F&Y: Its not worth it.Would you like somebody else having funwith your money for a long time and making you a fool. And think about the valuble time you spend on following up this thing.I was lucky I got the executive's mobile number. Or it would have been worse


When you buy from such sites ask for Cash on Delivery and check the items before paying.


The CEO of F&Y was with Yahoo Sales before. I guess good contacts definitely give you an edge.I can't comment on the quality of stuff they sell. But reading the other reviews I feel that I was lucky.


Well let me sum up the experience with Fashion & You: BAD


Let Honest, well-Organized genuine e-commerce prevail!!


I'm not emotional about this. Things like this happen to us once in a while. I just wanted to caution you all.
