Jalwa - The heat of Fashion. Review on Fashion

The movie fashion was the most awaited release for me as I too was in the same industry as a model and wanted to feel nostalgic during the screening and it did make me feel so in some scenes like the backstage chaos, the rude behavior of the seniors or event organisers etc. Well without drifting let me talk abt the movie. The movie is a journey of a chandigarh girl Meghana(Priyanka) who comes to mumbai to pursue her dream of becoming a model, she is not a very naive girl and is ready to accept what the city offers her in exchange for a bright model career, her transition is very fast in the movie and you really can't predict her characteristics, but the transition is nothing but a slow poison for the success headed priyanka who eventually has to succumb to the short lived career of every model. Priyanka becomes a supermodel and takes centrestage in every fashion show wherein she even replaces Kangana ranaut who was the most talked about model before her, Priyanka mistakes arrogance for attitude and this behavior of her crashes her successful modeling career.

The movie is worth a watch but it definitely is low in comparison to Chandni bar and Page 3, Page 3 had a beautiful flow of script, wheras this movie could have been far more better if there would have been added serious scenes. For e:g when Priyanka realizes her folly and to improve on her mistakes she becomes the care taker of Kangana she should have given Kangana the show stopper chance which Priyanka gets in the restaurant to show some sacrifice and to let Kangana retain the lost glory but Priyanka takes the show herself, it could have been shown that she tells Kangana to be the show stopper but Kangana wants priyanka to go ahead, this could have made the movie strike better on the emotional bond, there were a few unneccesary scenes like the one of Konkona, she could have played a PAGE3 journalist and asked priyanka a double edged question which could have given justice to Konkonas acting calibre rather than be wasted in one shot scene in the movie. Another scene when Priyanka realizes her mistake and rings the doorbell of her home in Chandigarh, her mother speaks her name when she sees her on the door but Raj Babbar doesn't hear that despite being so closely seated and is in a state of shock when she enters her home.

The Climax and the fashion runway scenes are great, but Priyanka doesn't look very stunning in comparison to being a SHOW STOPPER, I mean she is not very convincing, somewhere I feel Lara Dutta could have portrayed the character well as she has the model look and voice. but still Priyanka was not bad either, Kangana was great and Mugdha is very convincing.
