It's not Farz it's Ehsaas

Originality:

From the house of TIME movies comes 'Ehsaas - A Feeling'. Earlier movies of TIME were mainly action dramas like Sabse Bada Khiladi, Gambler, Kurukshetra (that got TIME and Mahesh Manjrekar together) amongst others. But this time, the producer (Nanjibhai Shah) and writer director Mahesh Manjrekar make a foray into an emotional drama. Something which is not alien for the director - Remember Astitva ?

Dhadkan established that Sunil Shetty can be equally good in melodrama as he is in action. Hence expectations from the movie seem to be good since it brings Sunil Shetty and Mahesh Manjrekar together for the first time. But can we have the same expectations from the music of Ehsaas as well ? Sadly - NO. Although three music directors Milind Sagar, Anand Raaj Anand, Prajwal Anand and five lyricists - Madan Pal, Anwar Sagar, Pratik Joseph, Praveen Bhardwaj and Shyam Anuragi have been roped in for 'In-total' 7 numbers, still none of the songs leave an impact.

'Yeh Kaisa Ehsaas Hai' is passable. One of those 'HEARD TODAY FORGOTTEN TOMORROW' kinds which are good till they last. Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan (seems like these days a movie without a song of hers may not be cleared by Censors !!! ) lend their vocals.

'Tumse Milkar Hua Hai Ehsaas' is ...ahem..ahem....another version of 'Dekha Jo Tumko' from Kasoor. Well Mr Anand Raj Anand, you are a far talented person to get 'inspired' from other's work. We have loved your original compositions then was this really needed? Moreover Cut-Copy-Paste technique of software is so obvious again with 'Keny G's' saxophone tunes put in directly in the same number.

'Kuch Kehna Hai' is of 'O Raju....O Daddy' kind of a song. Father son team of Udit Narayan and Aditya Narayan had earlier given a hit 'Tu Mera Dil , Tu Meri Jaan' (Akele Hum Akele Tum). Sad , but this time around they have not been able to make even half a impact. Maybe, with the flow of the movie, the song may seem good.

'Juhi Ne Dil Maanga' (Atul Kale, Vaishali Samant and Arun Ingle) is a complete chaalu number and should go down well with a particular class which identifies this genre of music. But talking about universal appeal, it is a strict NO-NO. It contains reference to half of the Bollywood's actresses, actors and directors and at best is time pass.'Ek Baar Pyar' (Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan) is a song on the occasion of New Year and can be conveniently skipped.

'Zindagi Ek Daud Hai' is again situational and is designed for the occasion of a father inspiring his son ( the two protagonists of the movie) to move ahead in life.

The only number that may help the sales of this album is 'Ye Din Bachpan Ke' by Aditya Narayan as after 'Chota Bachcha Jaan Ke' (Masoom) ; which was again sung by Aditya only; this is the only number in recent times which can be termed as a 'potential kiddy chartbuster'. Kids will love this song because of its lively choreography and will go for it.

As was in the case of Abhay where Bonus songs were more entertaining than the album itself, here too the tracks like 'Yaadein yaad Aati Hai' (Yaadein), 'Jo Pyar Karta Hai' (Ye Raaste Hai Pyar Ke) and 'Kasam Se Teri Aankhen' (Ajnabee) add more value to the album than the songs of the movie itself.

SORRY FRIEND'S I COULD NOT FIND THE WORD EHSAAS IN THE SECTION.HOPE U WONT MIND.
