i know I am very late in posting my review on fanaa. but plz do read it anyway bcoz I bet u wontb have a bad time doing so.

FANAA was one film this year being hugely awaited for reasons more tyhan one. it had everything going for it - a filmfare award winning director, the top most production house, an unprecedented aamir khan-kajol pairing and a hummable song airing on promos. to be very objective, the film does let u down to some extent, considering it came from kunal right after HUM TUM.

but to be more candid, the film doesnt fail to intrigue one n keep you glued to your seats. but why the hell is being made a lot of fuss by some of our mouthshut "know alls" [ even if didnt suit to their liking ] that the film is pathetic, boring, damp squib and all the nonsense - just bcoz it came from YASH RAJ FILMS and not from any smaller producer ? come on folks, that not being sport !!!!!!!

the film begins on an entertaining note - reyhaan, a flamboyant tourist guide and zooni, a clinical college lass falling for each other was very refreshing. a special mention of ravi k chandran here for his style of capturing delhi's charming localess simply bowled me over. for good measures, the way REYHAAN uses SHAYARIS to convey his feelings for ZOONI is sure to lure the front benchers and even some of the teenaged lovers. the screenplay is quite ordinary in the first half and its only the visuals, aamir khan-kajol chemistry that can make one sit and take notice.

oh yes, I missed the scene when rehyaan wooes zooni while crooning "HAIN JO IRAADE BATA DOON TUMKO, SHARMA HI JAAOGI TUM". I dont think I will ever be able to get over the charisma of this song with such meticulous camera work, great choreography and ofcourse, the passionate lyrics by prasoon joshi [ this man will surely go places ].

the film does take a complete U-turn in the interval point and makes u not go to take ur popcorn and think over its reasoning. the film then on becomes quite serious and is modestly well written. needless to say, but aamir khan steals the stow with some unforgettable expressions and a great scene when he unintentionally kills rishi kapoor.

the ending was predictable but moving nevertheless. the CHANDA CHAMKE sequence was a great relief in the serious 2nd half. kajol did perform very well but her character could have been meatier, if I may say. rishi kapoor was good, but kirron kher was wasted. it was a great pleasure to watch TABU as the upstart police officer. her character did make an impact.

AAMIR KHAN performed simply flawlessly throughout. his charm in the first part, his cunningness in the middle and then again his romantic side in the last one was very well performed. one has to applaud kunal kohli atleast for the fact that he brought the magnetic best of the lead pair and dared to go a bit off beat in his follow up to a modern urban flick like HUM TUM.

final verdict - FANAA was no-doubt a good movie watching experience but all the same a bit below my expectatations. we hope some better work from kunal as a writer in his next venture.

P.S - why the dickens was shiney ahuja invited to waste his share of talent for such an irrelevant role ? mr. aaditya chopra, thats just not fair !
