Zooni (Kajol) is a blind daughter of a Kashmiri couple Abbas(Rishi Kapoor) and Nafiza(Kiron Kher). When they send Zooni for a republic day performance to New Delhi along with her friends, little do they realize how life is going to change for them. She falls in love with Local Casanova Guide Rehan(Aamir Khan). Little Realising that Rehan is not the charming Guy he seems to be. He is linked with the deadly terrorist group IJK whose sole mission is to have a Free Nation in Jammu and Kashmir. Destiny Separates The couple and The same destiny unites them 7 years later and things would never be the same. Kunal Kohli has genuinely tried something different and succeeded to a great extent. Quite Disturbing in parts and one of Aamir Khan’s best performance since Raakh in 1988. Kajol is good. Supporting star cast of Rishi Kapoor, Vrijesh Hirjee(Hilarious in the 4 scenes he has), Kiron Kher, Tabu, Sharat Saxena, Satish Shah, Lillete Dubbey, Suresh Menon, Jaspal Bhatti, Shruti Sheth and Shiney Ahuja (in a miniscule role) are good. Whether the movie is a box office success or not is not a concern but do watch the movie for genuinely good cinema.

1) Aamir Khan and Kajol were reluctant do the movie as both had made changes in the first draft of the screenplay sent by Kunal Kohli and both had more role to their own characters and less to the others.

2) Aamir had said in a Radio Interview with Kajol that he had originally said no to the film because Kajol was in it but wanted to make sure that Kajol played the role of the lead actress.

3) The scenes which are depicted as Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, is actually shot at Poland. The reason being that Kajol was very apprehensive of shooting in Kashmir due to feared Terrorist attacks.

4) Fanna means Destroyed in Love in Urdu.

5) This is Kajol’s first film in nearly 4 and half years.

6) There was a slight controversy before the film released. The producers didn’t want to release the film in Multiplexes as they wanted either high percentage of Gross or the ticket prices to be raised. Ultimately it was released in all multiplexes and all tickets got booked within 2-3 hours of the Advance booking opening on the day of release. The film cost over Rs 250 Million In making. It grossed Rs 10 million on the very first day of release in Bombay alone. The highest for the year, next to Only Rang De Basanti.

7) The Songs in the Antakshri scene are actually Kunal Kohli’s favourite songs and the song Tere Bina Zindagi se koi is a personal favourite of Aamir Khan.

8) Jatin and Lalit, the music composers, have publicly announced that this would be the last film they would compose as a duo.

9) Shiney Ahuja’s character in the film is Suraj Ahuja and he plays an Army Major. His father was an Army Major and his name was Suraj Ahuja.

10) It was announced in many news papers that this is the first film of Aamir Khan and Kajol together. Everyone knows that this is untrue and their first film together was 1997's 2nd biggest Hit - Ishq. The Only thing was that they didnt star opposite each other.

12) There was another controversy with the release of the film. The movie was banned in the state of Gujarat due to Aamir Khan's Pro-Namrata Bachav Andolan Stand. The state government did offer the film to be released if Aamir would apoligise. Aamir Khan didnt budge and as the review is being written, the movie is still not released in Gujarat.

13) Kunal Kohli wanted to make a movie with Aamir Khan and Kajol ever since he aimed to become a director as they are both his favourite actor and Actress Respectively. At the time when Aamir had imposed a self imposed ban on the media and would not speak them except if a film of his was to be released, he came on TV for a 2 part interview with Kunal Kohli on his famous movie review show - Chalo Cinema.

1) It will never rain in the Month Of January in New Delhi as shown in the movie. Even if it does, Kajol and Aamir would have probably got pneumonia had they stayed in the rains as shown. It gets up to 4-5 degrees Celsius during January in New Delhi.
