This is a movie I kept wondering (before the interval) how the director was going to make the proceedings last for the requisite running lenghth of time required by the average Hindi flick.
The first half is full of ho-hums: a blind girl, a lovable rake, doting parents, 'shairi' at the drop of a hat, love, love and more love. There is also the old 'jawani ki bhool' scene to boot.
But.....! But.....! If you sit through till the intermission, you will be amply rewarded.
The movie changes tracks so abruptly in the second half, that you are literally on the edge of your seat till the ending! A suave, sleek Amir, an adorable chid star, a cute Rishi kapoor and our very own immensely talented Kajol make the rest of the movie absolute 'paisa vasool'.
This a movie you come out of the theater with a feeling of satisfaction. You are also forced to look at terrorism with new eyes.
Amir overdoes himself here in a role which is almost like a split personility. An intense lover and a ruthless terrorist. Both essayed with great elan.
Kunal Kohli, the director comes up trumps.
Go see it for superlative acting and breathtaking locales.
The song 'Subhan Allah' stays with you much after the movie is over.
