Where do I start? Where do I start??
Ok wait, first I'll tell ya something about the band. There?s Amy Lee as lead vocals and Ben Moody on guitar.. the rest of them are not prominently mentioned on the album cover.
The album has 11 tracks (most of which sound alike).
Any given song mostly starts of with an instrumental solo (piano in most cases) followed by the vocal solo.. followed by the jarring guitar solo. This sequence however does not apply to two songs namely, my immortal and another one (I forget the name!) these two songs have only the piano, violin and vocals.
Words you?re most likely to come across are broken, tears, I, you, this time, betrayed, and plenty many more! The theme that runs throughout the album is that someone is betrayed and is going through SO much pain, and that someone will carry on.. but before that someone does that, he/she has a message to give to the one who betrayed? oh come one, get creative, is this all we can expect out of a supposedly great album??
Well all is not bad, MY IMMORTAL is the only good song on the album that got my attention the first time itself. The others grow on you if you listen to them over and over.
Amy Lee has done a good job. Strong vocals and she has a brilliant job in both, the slow as well as the rock numbers. (a couple of my guy friends also tell me she is VERY hot.. any of u think that??)
Well, I bought the album (cassette) cos almost everyone I know was raving about it.. now all I can say is that it?s a matter of taste and perspective.. you can buy it if you like but don?t say no one told you better.
Anyone has anything to say about this? I mean anything.. please comment/ M2M. Am really looking forward to hearing what others think about this album.
